Before I found this forum my experience of the Gran Turismo games was nothing more than simply turning on the ps/ps2 and playing a few races. Now i see people talking about online leagues/races and changing the cars perfromance by swapping engines? What the hell is going on? As far as i know you cant play gran turismo over the internet so how does this work? How can you change the cars? Put the disk in a pc? HELP!

First, welcome to GTPlanet, enjoy your stay.

A few pointers
The search button is an invaluable tool.

Online racing is two different formats. Honor based, you race, and post your times. Best lap replay, race time or other such layout. The other format is by sharkport/X-port. It links your PS2 to your computer and allows you to upload/download your replays and game saves.

As for engine swaps, mildbrid, hybrid and hidden cars (Diablo) you'll need to check out our Gameshark & Hybrids forum. THere are links and hints there to help you "Adjust" your car. Yes, including HP upgrades to 4000 hp.

Take a few moments, tour around the site and read a few forums.

Enjoy your stay.

My site is Fortunecity-based, but daan hosts the video on his own site.

There's a second one in the works. Kind of... :D

Der Alta - I managed to get a 630,000hp Loctite... 4000hp? Pah - child's play! :D

Actually, it was Der Alta that posted that. I realize a lot of people think we're the same person, but we weren't even separated at birth...
;)

Between swapping parts and using the multiplier, you can have an unlimited amount of HP, but what is the point of that? If you are looking for "cheats" you should try the Hybrid and Gameshark forum here.

I downloaded the 630,000hp Loctite. It actually handles pretty well at relatively low speed. By relatively, I mean that I got this thing up to 850mph on the Test Curse and it had only just shifted into third. I'm sure it could go a lot faster, but I had to brake for the corner.

No, 637,000 is roughly the limit. This involves using the highest percentage tuning parts with the 65.535x power multiplier.

But I agree - much over 5 figures is kind of silly. Hell, much over 4 figures is pretty daft... :D

Who said that? Wha?

I never bothered to save a replay of the car, as it was so fundamentally stupid. It was just an exercise in seeing how much power it was possible to extract.

The parts in mk's are given to the nearest whol percentage, but 104% can mean 103.500% or 104.499% - and when you increase the multiplier by 65.535, that increases the difference by a huge degree (up to 65 times, in fact :D).

philip - please don't take my name in vain... ;)

:( :D :p ;) hi hi.. :)

but as far as i know, Famine.. (sorry if its spelled wrong) 's the god of Hybrids.. at least you're proberly the one that has made the most! ;)

Is there a reason that you are wandering around being obnoxious to other users? I suggest you find something better to do.
And actually, regarding your .sig: it wasn't once that you accidentally used the "Report To Moderators" button. Your first 10 post replies got sent to us, before you figured out that "Report To Moderators" didn't mean the same thing as "Reply". This included several repeats because you couldn't figure out why they weren't showing up in the threads.
:dunce:
So I'd be a little more careful of my attitude if I were you.

Ummm, philip - lamboluke was talking to Famine... and he asked, not begged. First you tell lamboluke that Famine is not the god of hybrids; then in the next post you tell famine he is the god of hybrids.

Perhaps you'd better step away from the computer and have a little rest.
