Oh. My. Bob. That's hilarious. I love how the guy in the silver flame suit is slam-shifting an automatic.

And I remember those digital dashboards - they had a software bug such that if you hit redline while the digital display was reading over 100mph, the whole dash would go uniform green, leaving you utterly in the dark about your velocity and revs.

Duke, that was a manual he was shifting. ;)

I love how the guy's like "uh-oh, lasers shooting out from anthills, gotta swerve!" Ah the 80's, cheesiness to the max!

Chevy's blinding me with science. I also felt like I just stepped out of Epcot.

Nice find.

I like how on the Cavalier commercial, where the announcer says "an interior that comforts your very soul" the lady looks like she's having the time of her life.

You should call this the cheesy old car commercial thread!

"I took it to the prom!"

It sure looks like a thumb button on the top of the shifter to me!

Nah, if you pause it and find a frame showing the shifter you can make out that it is a raised portion with the shift pattern. I understand how you thought it was that button though.

I love the Tempo ad and that massive understeer.

85MPH Speedometers FTW!

:lol::lol:.... when it got to the pan shot of the dash I couldnt help my self!

TBH later models were a good tuners car and it does look kinda good in an odd sort of way... :sly:

My brother had one of these for his first car. The rear cloth seat was brilliant, it was practically like a couch.

1988 Maxima
