Due to the decline of the GT1 class globally and subsequently the lack of competition in class, a new car was introduced in 2009: the Corvette C6.R GT2. As its name implies, this ZR1 based car was built for the GT2 category to compete against the likes of Porsche, BMW, Ferrari and Aston Martin. It was powered by a 6 Liter Small Block V8 Based on the original LS7.R from the GT1 machine, producing 491 Horsepower. Over the next four years, the car would be battling the other cars heavily before finally scoring multiple wins and a championship in 2012 and then repeating it in the final season of ALMS by sweeping the drivers, teams and Manufacterer's Championships.

This car's addition to GT would add a proper, real modern Corvette Race car as well as the first one since the C5-R.

Engine: Chevy 6.0L Naturally Aspirated Small Block V8
Horsepower: 491 hp
Transmission: xTrac 6-Speed Manual
Weight: 1245Kg
Drivetrain: RWD
