I want to build a steel framed cockpit but didn't have anything to go by. Recently I sold my fun car so I couldn't mock it up after it. I really like Chilicoke's cockpit but he's not willing to give up the measurements.

Then I saw Wayside's wood cockpit design, which as he said was influenced from Chilicoke's DIY cockpit. Wayside was kind enough to give up his Google Sketchup file.

I decided to take his file and modify it for a steel design. The attached pic is pretty rough as I've never used Google Sketchup before. Some of the dimensions are off and it is still missing the cross bars for the pedals.

I plan to keep working on this to dial in the dimensions, etc.

I was suprised to hear that Chili coke:bowdown: was not willing to supply you with the plans for his frame :grumpy: maybe it is classified information on a need to know basis only and you dont need to know:ouch: good luck with the build you never know it might well be better than chili cokes:bowdown: Meeeooowwww:lol:
 
I never asked him directly for them. I read through all the posts in his build thread and other asked. He politely declined.

I have worked on it some more and will post something up soon. I want to make parts of it adjustable, which is what I'm focusing on. I will be ordering a seat within a month and plan to start constructing it.
