Open letter to Gran Turismo Team and hill climbers,

I’m a fan of the GT series and a passionate racer with years of experience in SCCA F Production, especially with MG Midgets and Spridgets. I’d love to suggest adding the historic Chimney Rock Hill Climb to your track lineup in a future Gran Turismo release and a 1275cc sprite to cars available for all tracks.

Chimney Rock is a legendary hill climb in North Carolina, known for its tight switchbacks, dramatic elevation changes, and breathtaking scenery. It was a proving ground for grassroots racers and national champions alike. I’ve personally raced there and held a class record from 1968 to 1975. I've optimized gearing for that course—it’s a technical challenge that rewards precision and bravery.

Adding Chimney Rock would bring:

  • A unique hill climb experience to GT’s track roster
  • A tribute to American grassroots motorsport history
  • A fresh challenge for players who love elevation and technical cornering dynamics
I’d be thrilled to see this iconic course brought to life in Gran Turismo’s stunning engine. If you’re open to community-sourced ideas or historical references, I’d be happy to share more details or help in any way.

Thanks for continuing to push the boundaries of racing simulation.

Best regards,
John Phelps

I've moved your thread into the right place but, just so you know...

... GTPlanet is an independent media site and not involved in the development for Gran Turismo in any way, so cannot add any content to the game.

Thanks for the edit/ attention. a AI "CO pilot" suggested I post my interest in the hill climb because it said that some of the developers read your threads. I apologize for posting in the wrong place I'm new to this way of communicating. None of the official GT developer sites offer a means to make suggestion that I have found so far. Do you have any suggestions?

That's correct - and in fact the Suggestions forum was actually rooted in the idea of garnering fan content suggestions.

There is, fundamentally, no way to communicate anything directly to Polyphony Digital.
