Yes, giving me pills isn't going to do anything. I have tried numerous times to get my doctor to get me into physical therapy, but he refuses. I have HAP so I can only go to certain doctors. I hate the medical industry because all they want to do is cover over the symptoms instead of fixing the problem.
Some chiropractors have medical degrees, the one I'm talking to graduated from Wayne State.

HAP? Some type of medical insurance?
You need a doctors permssion for physio therapy over there?

Maybe - just maybe - he doesn't want you in PT because he thinks PT will further injure your back? Maybe - just maybe - what your back needs is a chance to rest and be relatively immobile so it can heal itself?Yes, giving me pills isn't going to do anything. Maybe - just maybe - if you do what he's saying, your body will heal itself without requiring outside intervention that might do more harm that good?I hate the medical industry because all they want to do is cover over the symptoms instead of fixing the problem.

Explain to me how I can live and make money if I have to rest my back for 6 to 8 weeks? I lift quite a bit of stuff at my job and if I can't do that there is no reason for me to go to work. I always lift with my legs and wear a brace when I'm lifting anything heavy. I do what I can but I don't have the time or the ability to rest like the doctor wanted.
Lol. Are you serious? If you can't rest, then stop complaining. You've strained yourself and need to stop lifting. Can't you temporarily do something at your job that doesn't require lifting? Have you looked into worker's comp or anything like that?

As far as chiropractors go, I've had good or no results from them. Some of them want to get you on a lifetime regiment. The guy I go to now wants to just see you once unless you're still hurting. He honestly wants you to heal. He has also given me some therapeutic exercises for my injuries which have kept me out of his office. As long as I do the exercises, I seem to avoid needing to see him.
Wow I can't believe you guys can't understand the concept of having to work, maybe you don't work in a job where you are required to lift thing...I am and I have no way of getting around it. Either I perform the work or I don't have a job. I follow my doctors order to the best of my ability but it's just not physical possible for me to lay around for 6 weeks. Trust me I ask for all the help I can get with lifting things and I don't lift things when I don't need to.
It's still not your doctor's fault though, so don't blame him. Yeah, I have to work too, full time while I'm in school full time as well. Any time that I have had any type of physical problems (mono for instance) my boss has been very cooperative with me, giving me the time off that I require and giving me lighter work when I do come back. If your job can't do that for you, I'd suggest filing for worker's comp. or looking for a different job.
And if you're going to continue lifting things and straining your back, how much more is a chiropractor going to do for you, even if you do feel better after getting 'adjusted' you're going to mess it all right back up again when you keep straining it. It seems to me that you're just looking for a quick fix.
