I've been looking on eBay for a wheel but they are going for anything upto £100, I can't afford that.

A) - Are the wheels that sit on your lap any good?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Logitech-Driv...632?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1c199492f0

B) - Logitech G25/27? (although I can't afford one of these either).

C) - I've seen one called a Logitech Momo?

D) - Logitech driving force steering wheel for ps2&3?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/logitech-driv...381?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item19c36a0be5

This says it has 180o wheel rotation, is that good or not? Plus it's only on for .99p at the moment.

E) - Logitech Driving Force EX Steering wheel

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Logitech-Driv...567?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item45f90d2c7f

F) - Logitech Formula Force GP Steering Wheel

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Logitech-Form..._JoysticksJoypadsGamepads&hash=item4aa90d5476

G) - LOGITECH FORMULA VIBRATION WHEEL

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LOGITECH-FORM..._JoysticksJoypadsGamepads&hash=item483f3c6c41

This says PC on the box but it connects with a USB so could it be used with a PS3?

H) - I have seen in Gamestation one called Ferrari?

I am not a brilliant racing-sim driver, so probably wouldn't need an all singing dancing wheel, just one that does the job. Unless I can get lucky on eBay and find a bargain.

B) - Logitech G25/27? (although I can't afford one of these either). - i have a g27 and love it!

D) - Logitech driving force steering wheel for ps2&3? - had one and it was good

Go for the Driving Force GT.
I might eBay mine if you want it.
I'll keep you posted on that.
Great wheel for the price, gets the job done.
Only reason I'm selling is because I wanna upgrade to the G27. :D

Look for a Logitech Driving Force GT. I bought mine for $150 brand new, and I'm sure you can find one used for a really good price.

I love this wheel. You can control everything right on the steering wheel, and best of all, it's the OFFICIAL wheel of GT5, meaning you get full support for it.

Also the GT5 logo on the wheel makes it look like it's worth 10x as much :)

This, or the Fanatec Carrera, are the best lower priced wheels on the market.

I have this wheel (DFGT) and I think it's great for the GT5. The fact that there are on-wheel real time controls and the $129 (Gamestop) price make it the best deal for me.

^^ This.

I had my DFGT since GT5;P and found it to be an excellent wheel for the price. I never had any problems with it whatsoever. I think it's the best one to go for on your budget.

This week I upgraded to the G27, and whilst the feel and build quality is better, I do kinda miss the on wheel functionality of the DFGT.

If you want second hand and really cheap, you can't go past a Logitech Driving Force Pro. It was the first of the 900º wheels with decent FFB and it's rock solid. I had one before moving to a G27 and loved it. Harder to find second hand but personally I'd take that over the Driving force EX or Momo wheels. It's similar to the DFGT but with without the dial and a bit noisier.

DFGT

Learned to go from Automatic to Manual and took one of my cars for a test drive in Manual for faster lap times in no time. Now I never even have a thought about going Automatic on any car except GoKarts. Love the Force feedback and pedals will do fine (and I tell you this. You don't really need to practice with the best wheel/pedal set-up on the market to be like Jeff Gordon. DFGT is the least learning curve for a wheel and changing to others won't be a problem if you're trying to get same laptimes and all).

Good luck! :)

+1 on this one, my old DFP is on its 5th year now (or is it 6th, hmm). If you can find it cheap that is, else a used DFGT

Driving force gt.

Can compete up there with the big boys without spending nearly as much money.
And I have one, great wheel.

Thanks all, looks like it'll be a dfgt then. Have to see what's on eBay. Although I think Gamestation are selling on for £100. I'll check out Game online too.

Another quickie, I presume this wheel (or any wheel) is better if used with a stand rather than screwed to a coffee table? Any suggestions?

I use a WheelStandPro but that's another £110. Check in the build your own cockpit section of the forums. You should be able ta make a decent stand for less. There are many good projects there.
