Just watched those interviews with Chris Hinojosa-Miranda on the GT Planet news page. I had heard of him before and I think we have seen one interview with him at that electronics show in Las Vegas. It seems as if he would be a good spokesman for the series and he speaks perfect English.

Personally, I respect Kazunori Yamauchi a lot. However, the interviewer to translator to Kaz and then Kaz to translater to interviewer thing creates a lot of problems. I mean, half of what we argue and bicker about is translations and what they mean.

So, I think that Chris Hinojosa-Miranda should be more of a spokesperson for the game. I'm not saying Kaz should not be interviewed, but that Chris should be interviewed more. What do you guys think?

Besides, this vote here may really make a difference. We know how much they pay attention to this community.

Please Vote

Edit: If you are not familiar with him. Check out this interview he did with IGN.

Hes Kazunori's English Interpreter.

Okay he's the only sony person who can explain unknown things about GT5.

No, the guy is a joke and is terrible at explaining things (just repeats questions without really adding much). Useless.

Translator guy. Chris doesn't know the details as well as Kaz and Translator Guy translates directly from him. I just personally dislike Chris from the way he talks and the fact that he's provided just about nothing we haven't already known so far.

Wait, is he Japanese?

I think that is a very fair point. However, I will make a valid assumption...

The current structure at PD probably dictates that. PD wants Kaz to be the face (not a bad idea at all) of the franchise. So, it is him that releases all of the juicy information.

Chris is probably highly restricted in what he can say. Surely, he is more than familiar with the game's details. In my opinion, it would be a great service to have him be interviewed more. If nothing else, he could come in after Kaz releases the information (as to not "steal his thunder"), but repeat the information in a different and more conversational format.

Just interview him more often, thats all.

Are you still confused?

No not at all, thank you very much sir. :)

I agree that he's not that good, repeating himself all the time or just trying to explain something and then skipping to the next one like that.
I don't really know.

When the game launches, none of this will matter, so who cares?

I agree.. but that game hasn't launched yet. So it kinda does matter.

_______

He doesn't seem to say very much about the Premiums and Standards. Just that they spend alot of time modeling them etc.. and that there's over 1000 cars to choose from. I think he's been told to not say much, to keep as much as he can hush hush. But I think he should be interviewed more because as another guy said he will break under pressure.

Especially if someone such as Jeremy Clarkson interviews him, then we'll see how he'll leak stuff. Jezza doesn't hold back during interviews as I've noticed. ;)

+ 1000

He did not say anything new in this interview, and I believe everything he said was premeditated by SONY!

Everything he said was elaborated previously by Sony, so he was quite elusive and kept the bigger secrets unconvered, why interviewing him again would make things different?

But I like the idea of Jeremy Clarkson putting him under pressure in an interview. :trouble:

This.

He is "trained" to say only the things is allowed to, but if he's interviewd more, eventually we could get more clues from it.

He might speak perfect english, but he also speaks perfect PR rubbish. He tended to repeat the same points, talk a load about "pinnacles" etc. He didn't really answer the standard/premium question instead decided to chat about how good the cars look.
I don't see why he should be interviewed more, we didn't learn anything new, he was just someone to talk to for interviewers.

Isn't this a bit backward thinking? Why should we get interviews from PR spokesmen that speak perfect english over the creator? If anything, you get less information, even if at times it might be clearer. Normally the press clamour for interviews with the original creators, directors, etc you can find PR rubbish anywhere you like.

It's not that he's not saying anything, It's that he doesn't know anything. No one but the inner circle at PD do. Their not going to comprimise the launch info by telling a PR spokesmen anything other than the typed statement. Look at all the 'behind the scenes, closed door, private" interview sessions that took place. Every one of the blogs reads the same. It had to have been a simple press statement that was issued, and that is all Chris knows. That is all anyone knows right now. Chris may be a good guy and Jordan thinks highly of him, but he's in a horrible, no win position. He has to speak about a new blockbuster, AAA title release with only a one page script. Tough job.

I would rather have someone telling us info than the complete lack of info we have had over the last months.

He did seem very scripted in all his interviews though. Think Kaz had him under orders. Looks like they are going to carry on drip feeding things though TGS and Gamescom.
