Not Christmas movies, but movies that are on at Christmas.

In the UK, there are always classic movies that are shown every Christmas. E.T, Back to the Future, The Goonies. Star wars used to be on every Christmas but I don't remember it recently.

What about you guys from around the world? Do your television networks show the same movies every Christmas?
 
You forgot Clash of the Titans, The Italian Job (original), The Great Escape, The Poseidon Adventure, Escape to Victory and, of course, The Sound of Music.
 
I know you said movies that are on during Christmas, not Christmas movies, but I still would like to comment on Christmas movies.

Rubbish. The lot of 'em.
Waste of good money, time and tv time slots.
But I suppose, they have nothing better to show, and it does keep the little one's entertained, which subsequently keeps adults and big kids happy :lol:
 
Except, of course, Bad Santa.
 
And Muppets Christmas Carol. That film is awesome!
 
It's a Wonderful Life, Frosty the Snowman, A Charlie Brown Christmas, The Sound of Music, COPS, and apparently Spider-Man is on FOX on the 24th.

They've done if for four or five years, I think. Every Christmas since.

This movie deserves to be repeated for 24 hours!

And yes, a Muppet Christmas Carol is a good one i enjoyed as a kid.

I don't know. I just can't grab the concept of a network playing the same program all day. It seems a bit odd and a little unecessary, especially with things such as DVR's when if they aren't going to be around to see it, they can just record it.
 
I think Die Hard is on every christmas at some point.

Bad Santa was brilliant. In fact, I think that's gonna be next on the list...


I really don't mind TBS (or whoever it is) playing A Christmas Story all day - it basically guarantees I'll be able to catch it at some point.
 
Scrooged with Bill Murray is one of my favorite christmas movies.

Lady_DA doesn't like Bad Santa. I loved it.
 
A Charlie Brown Christmas is definitely a classic, I always enjoy watching that one. It's a shame that we don't get to see "Clash of Titans" too often, It's a great movie IMO. As a matter of fact, the last time I saw the entire movie was when I was in Italy, after that I only got to see part of it on ABC and then they never aired it again...

I forgot one; Trading Places. Dan Aykroyd in the Santa suit, trying to commit suicide in the pouring rain; dog pissin' on his leg; Christmas classic.

Yeah, and I've loved that movie from the first time I watched it over twenty years ago, but it's a "Christmas Movie" and not a "Movie Aired at Christmas that's not a Christmas Movie."

Trading Places, Die Hard, The Sound of Music and all the movies Famine listed are NOT Christmas Movies. They're Movies Aired around Christmas.

Does this really mater, anyway?
 
Hmm well there's a channel here called TBS and on the 24th to the 25th 24 hours of each day they play The Christmas Story over and over again. I personally don't like the movie or find it funny, so I'm always annoyed by that fact. Although, last night they played one of my favourite movies, Nightmare before Christmas.
 
They aired The Sound of Music last night, so my mom watched it. Again. For the eleventy billionth time.
 
Standard "kiddy" fare around here; Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, Cristmas Story, A Jhonny Bravo Christmas, A Powerpuff Girl Christmas.....:yuck:
