So, I'm thinking about a christmas present for my gf. Luckily, she has some favourites. I'm still not sure if the 3DS would be best or if the new Zelda would be better. She's a real Zelda freak, so the 3DS would most likely be the one that comes with Zelda (it's Ocarina of Time 3DS or so, a remake of the N64 one imho) anyway. Or the one that comes with Mario. Unlikely, tho.

She has a Nintendo DS and is in love with it. Money is tight this year (for both me and her but I'd pay for a 3DS nonetheless, don't get me wrong - I'd rather not buy something for myself), so I'm not sure if it'd make her happy to have a 3DS with only one game or the new Zelda for her Wii. She can't buy new games all the time so that's what's putting a question mark behind the idea of giving her a 3DS.

Opinions, mighty GTP?

My sister got a 3DS for her birthday, and I'll get her opinion on it in a while. But I've had a play on it, and the 3D is disappointing. It's good at first, but it hurts your eyes and makes games less enjoyable. I know that my sister now plays with it in 2D mode 95% of the time.

I have just got the Zelda Skyward Sword and it's a nice pack, the CD is a must for any fan. I would love to justify the 25th anniversary 3DS as a collectors item because of the anniversary but I can't. I personally say get the limited edition bundle for Skyward Sword as you get a nice gold Wii remote too.

I guess it depends on how nuts she is for collecting things. Also she can play her DS games on the 3DS.

That's the track listing of the CD just in case you wanted to know, it's 45 minutes long of really great orchestral music from the games. The Wii remote has the rubber case and has the remote plus.

Hm...sounds like the Skyward Sword CE might be the better option, seeing that she doesn't have much money to buy games for the 3DS. Waiting for more replies, thanks for your opinions so far. :)

Just got my Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword bundle =D
In my honest opinion though for this question, if I were you, I would just get Skyward Sword. If you take the 3DS path and she has already played the Ocarina Of Time game ( I'll assume she has since you claimed she is a Zelda freak ) then I would just forget about the 3DS and OoT. Skyward Sword so far is a beautiful game, even though Im not a big fan of the Wii Motion Plus, but still Skyward Sword is still really enjoyable with the silly motions and stuff. :dopey:

Give her a bouquet of flowers and a romantic night at a nice hotel bro 👍

But anyway from what I've heard Skyward Sword is awesome (and cheaper) so...go for it :D

Hm, true...she played through it multiple times on the N64, so valid point.

She's coming over to my place and I paid for the flight tickets to Paris. So...yeah, my place is better than a hotel and it's Paris after all. :D
