Imagine that some rich benefactor offered you a real life version of any car you desire from GTS as a Christmas present.

It would come fully insured, taxed, fully serviced and repaired for as long as you had it, at no expense to you.
You can use it in any way you want - daily runaround, special weekend car, take it racing or just keep it parked to stare at!

For the purposes of this fantasy it can be any car, including VGTs and group X cars that may not exist any more (e.g. the Jag XJ13).

There is one condition and that is you cannot sell or give it away - it's yours for life.

What would you choose and why?

Fantasy choice Miura. The first super car. Street legal. Only seats 2 and only gets 11 mpg but I don't drive much anymore, might as well do it in style.

More practical choice Lancia Delta. 4WD. 5 doors. 18 mpg.

I have to choose the 2017 Ford GT. It’s just a beauty. Best looking car ever in my opinion. Liquid Blue with White Stripes please! If I could choose more than one, a Plum Crazy Charger Hellcat, Heat Blue RC F, Rosso Corsa LaFerrari and Nouvelle Blue 2017 NSX would be great too

Oh, this nice fantasy question puts me in a dilemma...
My beloved McLaren F1 or the LaFerrari...

I would go with LaFerrari. A civilised (as much as it can be), extreme supercar of today with tons of technology.

I‘d take almost any VGT Hyper Car. I simply adore these Design Wet Dreams of a Car.
It’s something i fell in Love with when I was just a small Kid in the early 80‘s.
I remember my Father coming Home from Work, when he brought me a Calendar with Design/Concept Studies with Futuristic Cars. I had it pinned to the Wall for many years, and it’s still lying around somewhere in my Cellar.
Now, almost 40 years later, I can finally drive them...:dopey:

The 250GTO. Is there any other choice? The car is one of 36 or 39?

The last one went for USD$70mil?

I remember as a kid the Sumitomo Bank bought one at auction for $20 mil and that sounded outrageous at the time... it sat in their foyer.

I also remember around that time one of the millionaires of that era... Alan Bond, you know the guy who financed the 1983 America's Cup win, bought Van Gogh's "Sunflowers" for $84 mil.

So that 250GTO is 'our' "Sunflowers". I have no appreciation for fine art but yes, the 250GTO is the ultimate piece of automotive fine art.

Yes, there are Hypercars, GT3 cars, legendary cars. There are old muscle cars, there are fantasy cars. And there is this. A small french two seater, made with love. I fell in love with it, as I had first seen it in a magazine as a sketch. I drooled, as it was presented. I worshipped as I had it seen the first time live. I'm counting the days to testdrive it finally in spring. As I'm still worried a bit about insurance and maintance, I would gladly accept the "All things paid deal" of dear GTS Claus. Please give me finally my copy of this:

I narrowed it down to the Jag XJ13 (but rains - a lot! - where I'm living at the moment and it doesn't have a roof!), the AM One-77 but have eventually decided I'd ask for the Nissan GT-R 2017. I think it's one of the most attractively designed modern cars going, and is a car I could probably use the most. I think it's a stunner and I'd buy one tomorrow (if I could afford it )

PS - I was on the motorway a month or so ago and got overtaken by what must have been a GT-R Owner's Club..... 6 or 7 of them, went belting past as if I was standing still. Made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up!!!

First of all I want to make clear that I don't want to be disrespectful to anyone.
As I stated before ''de gustibus...''

Gyus, this rich benefactor offers us any car we desire (fully insured, taxed, fully serviced and repaired for as long as we have it).
I repeat ANY CAR WE DESIRE!
Having this, once in a lifetime, opportunity, some of us choose a pick-up or a Supra or an Alpine?
Come on guys...If I was the benefactor, I would consider this as an offense...:D

These cars are, more or less, affordable by too many people. Ferraris, Lambos, McLarens, Porsches, the race cars some chose, are not.
We have the opportunity to have, for free, a car straight from our wet dreams! Let's rise to the occasion!

That's a very good point and I may reconsider...... we have 2 days to make up our minds

The XJ13 still exists! But I wouldn't choose that even though it is reputedly worth 3 Ferrari 250 GTO's!

I would choose the 1954 Jaguar D Type. They are relatively practical classics - quite large numbers were made so spares are available. Also they are nice to drive on road and track and I think with a bit of guidance I would be able to drive it. Le Mans winner Duncan Hamilton used to drive his from race to race throughout Europe - it is just necessary to fit an appropriate rear axle ratio - the one used for Le Mans is too high for road use.

PS - If anyone here hasn't read Duncan Hamilton's autobiography "Touch Wood" - I strongly recommend it!

And it still will be a Alpine.
Expensive, exclusive, old and fast cars suck in so many ways...

I get your point, but I'm just a man of little wishes.

Everyone answering in the thread is a winner, but you most of all has the right answer...

I was thinking the same thing as you lol

We all should be picking the $20,000,000 cars...
