Chrome Cars Code not working? (UK with US CE)

I've looked about but not found any quite the same.
I've put in the code absolutely correctly, several times with and several times without caps on. Still won't work. Is it since those cars are only available to US accts? If so, will i be able to setup a US PSN id and transfer the car without my actual alias being online?
 
You could always try it and let us know if it works. Or, you could always give the code to a trusted friend that already has a US account and see if they can gift it back to you. Just an idea.

Chromelines aren't giftable. I'm guessing this is because the 'content' you download is just an encrypted file that tells the game to give you the car, as they're already on the game disk. If a premium car takes the alleged 4 months to model by PD, I highly doubt the 100kb download actually contains all of the data, images etc. for that car.

Point I'm trying to make is that perhaps the reason the codes aren't working is because the CE's are region specific, and Chromeline cars fall under that region specificity.

I dunno. Could be wrong. Just thinking out loud. :)
