Chrysler 300C SRT8 2005

Introduced in 2005, the Chrysler 300C SRT8 was the first Street and Racing Technology (SRT) vehicle to be powered with the 6.1-liter HEMI V-8, which offers 85 more horsepower — 25 percent more power — than the 5.7-liter HEMI. But SRT performance is more than just straight-line quickness.

"There’s no other premium sedan that delivers the comfort, convenience and performance numbers that the 2006 Chrysler 300C SRT8 delivers," said Jeff Bell, Vice President-Chrysler Marketing, Chrysler Group. "In terms of affordability, no one else even comes close to delivering the Chrysler 300C SRT8’s combination of performance and value."

"The 2006 Chrysler 300C SRT8 is a complete package for the customer who wants awesome performance in an award-winning sedan loaded with comfort and style," said Dan Knott, Director – Street and Racing Technology. "With its SRT-engineered 6.1-liter HEMI engine and Brembo brakes, it’s engineered for incredible acceleration and stopping power."

For 2006, the Chrysler 300C SRT8 is available in a new Silver Steel exterior color. Also new for 2006 are a standard tire pressure monitoring system, an available Kicker® high-performance audio system and available rear-seat video system.

If DC thinks they are even close to competing with anything German they are sadly mistaken. Hell, if Germany was out of the equasion I'd still rather take an S-Type R over this hunk of junk. You increase 0.7L of displacement for a total of 6.1L and you can only get 425bhp? Pathetic if you ask me, give Audi, BMW, or Mercedes 6.1L to work with and see what they can produce. I mean, I'd rather have a CTS-V instead of this thing--the CTS-V at least looks a whole hell of alot better. The SRT8 Magnum has the correct front end that should of been on the 300C, but it's still too large and ugly on the rest of the car.

........but 6.1L V8 is an American way, Euro and American cars will never be the same. Thats the way American V8 has always been and will continue to be. Just because M-B can crank out 600+ hp from 6.3L doesnt mean that everyone will love it; I know it because I had a ride in the SRT-8.

Btw JCE3000GT your math is wrong. 5.7L Hemi is standard on 300C - 6.1 is a 0.4L increase. SRT got 85hp more out of 0.4L. Good work in my opinion.

Oh didn't even notice the error. I use the number pad to do numbers and 7 right right above 4. And yes I still think 85bhp from 4 tenths of a liter is pathetic. They could of increased the output of the 5.7l easily more than 85bhp with a few NA tunes. All they wanted to do was out "liter" GM--and they got squashed with the LS7. GM for teh win!

lol, thats the way its always been - in the late '60s the big three were competing to get the largest displacement possible from the big-block V8. Cadillac won with 500ci :sly:
