I forsee this as being quite a controversial suggestion due to its styling, but I am personally a huge fan of the new shape Delta. Like the original and iconic Delta, the 2011 version is only available commercially as a five door.

Unfortunately, the Delta is no longer sold under the Lancia moniker, but instead the rather more bland (but more reassuring build quality-wise) Chrysler brand name. The top of the line Delta 2.0 M-Jet Limited is powered by a 165 horsepower 2.0 litre straight four. This endows it with spritely performance, with 60 mph arriving in a respectable 8.5 seconds, and 'thundering' on to a maximum speed of 133 mph, all the while being capable of a very impressive 55 mpg of fuel economy (not that real life fuel range makes much difference on GT).

There are very few Chryslers to choose from on GT, and a new potential hot hatch is always welcome on GT...

55mpg (UK) on the Euro testing cycle translates to 45.7mpg (US). On the American testing cycle it would still likely be somewhere between 35-40mpg.

Though it is a Diesel-powered model, which would add a bit more variety in street-legal Diesel cars in GT.
