Something I just thought of: with Chrysler being bought by Fiat, do you think Chrysler cars will be in American or Italian dealerships? And if the older cars are in American dealers, maybe current ones will be in the Italian dealers? I know it doesn't really matter, but it was just something I was wondering about.
 
They will be under America as Chrysler,Dodge and Jeep are still based here. Just like how Scion was under America in GT4.
 
There will be a special unloackable car, a punto with a V8.

But seriously I don't think they will put chrysler in Italia or Fiat in america. Chrysler is still american and Fiat is still Italian.
 
Well, Aston Martin was, at the time of GT4, owned by Ford. Yet Ford was under the American dealers and Aston Martin under the British.

There is no reason for them to both be under the Italian banner.
 
Not to mention Seat (Spain; GT4 - Spain) who are owned by VAG (Germany; GT4 - Germany), Volvo (Sweden; GT4 - Sweden) who were owned by Ford (USA; GT4 - USA), Bentley (UK; GT4 - UK) who are owned by VAG again or Nissan (Japan; GT4 - Japan) who are technically owned by Renault (France; GT4 - France).
 
Lexus was listed as American too right? But it is basically Toyota.
 
Yes as people have said this seems like a pretty silly thought. And would end up with almost every car being in different places if it were to be put in practice.

I'm gonna go back to driving my GT-R on GT5P made by that well known French Manufacturer :sly:
 
Indeed - but the Lexus brand (along with the Acura one) doesn't exist in Japan. It's an American marque, more recently adopted in Europe also.
 
Well if im not mistaken they had for example the IS200 under Toyota in GT2 (Altezza and IS200, JPN and NA), could be wrong though.
 
Indeed - a Lexus will always have a Toyota equivalent (IS200/Altezza, GS300/Aristo, errr... some others). In GT2 the Lexus cars were listed under Toyota, but as Lexus models alongside their Toyota versions.

For example, the IS200/Altezza appeared under Toyota as "Altezza (J)" or "Lexus IS200".

What about Infiniti? Will they all be Nissans? ie G37...

No they will be in Infinity US dealers.
Nissan Will be Nissan in US dealers.
Unless KAZ thinks other wise.
 
I don't recall if Infiniti made it into GT4. If it makes it into GT5, I would prefer NOT to have Infiniti and Nissan badged V35/36 cars. One or the other. We don't need the G37 Coupe and the Skyline 370GT Coupe.

I know we got a couple of Infiniti's in GT4.
FX45 Concept and the G35.
I personally found the G35 pointless as it was exactly the same as the equivalent Skyline (can't remember which exact model). So I would also say there's no reason to have two cars exactly the same, just with different badges.

Toyota has since introduced Lexus in the Japanese markey (2006 IIRC). Still remain in the US dealer though.

I'm sure people like Jordan (site/forum owner) is happy to choose his own car than have to settle with the 350GT. I don't think GT5 will be any different, if you remember the GTHD demo it featured a Infiniti G35 rather than Nissan badging, also the V36 (G37) concept was badged Infiniti rather than Nissan. In real life the car was shown as 370GT Nissan in Japan but when it was in US autoshows it was rebadged as Infiniti G37.

The european version of gt4 didn't have scion at all they were marketed as toyota's.
 
I was surprised that us PAL users had Infiniti in the first place - we didn't get Infinitis in Europe until last year - and then I think they're currently only sold in Switzerland, so many people will not have heard of Infiniti here.

As they were in the Japanese version - the Japanese don't get Scions, just Toyotas, and we don't even get those models in any guise...

That was my point, The americans do get them...
 
It doesn't matter which country owns the company, but where they have headquarters and where the cars are made. For example, in GT4 Volvo was swedish although it's owned by Ford...
 
Acura was listed as a Japanese manufacturer in US GT4 even though the brand only recently came to Japan - if it did, I can't recall if Honda decided to abort that plan in response to their money problems.
 
I thought Honda cancelled plans to release Acura branded models to Japan?

Why were you surprised? We don't get Skylines in North America yet we've always gotten them in Gran Turismo.

They're sold in France since this year too.
