Hi, is it possible to lap the track under 3mins with a Peugeot 908 HDi? This monster got so much torque, I'm struggling to control it when i'm out of the corner.

My best timing so far is 3.02:874, with all aids off except abs set to 1.

:tup:Good job thats fast.

what tyres did you use? and did you add a turbo?

I'm using Racing Soft (for flying lap) + a high RPM turbo for the straight.

i personally dont add turbos to LM cars. i also never use RS, i use the stock tyres on every car

Due to the amount of torque after adding the turbo. I'm getting wheel spin at 3rd gear. If i'm using RH, the amount of torque i can put on the road is limited, so its pretty useless.

Why? they are there to add and i personally just add all there is and that’s a car i can now say “at its best with its best tires, i can do this time on this track”. It’s not like the HP is that accurate that you are comparing with real life, give it all you can and then try and contain the wheel spin and keep it on the track. Detuning just means less car and less skill to control it.

its tooo easy to use racing soft, i also dont put racing tires on street cars, only noob do that. i play gt5 as a sim, not as a arcade racer.

No Turbo + No RS = One heck of a good challenge!

But I find it sometimes to add a mid or a high rpm turbo in a LM car to be a huge advantage when trying to hotlap a track with the lowest time possible, it's really easy when you apply throttle control through the corners to avoid spinning out.

I also use no turbos in LM cars myself, mostly after I buy one, but when experiementing with the turbos, it's better than using the stock turbos IMO. At least you can disengage the turbo system. ;)

Exactly, you do. So why bash people who play it as an arcade racer? Why call them noobs?

I though people uses RS when they want to do a hotlap during qualifying?

Most club racers I know put slicks on when at the track. They are far from noobs. Look at time attck cars. They use slicks too. Kind of why they call them "racing slicks"

The OP was talking about setting an ultimate laptime on a track, no need to go all leet on him.

So what tire pressures do you run at Monza Captain Sim?

+1. Let people play their game how they like it, man...

I use what the real life cars have available to them, and LMP cars have racing softs available.

At Le Mans each car requires around 30 sets of slick tyres, plus intermediates and wetweather tyres. Michelin provides its partner teams with three slick compounds (soft, medium and hard).
From here.

I also don't put racing tyres on road cars, but soft racing tyres on a racing car is perfectly acceptable just the same as soft sports are perfectly acceptable on a road car.
