Hello

I have been driving this track for a while using stock cars only. I keep record for them -- so I can see the fastest cars with their lap times on Le Mans I.

Currently my fastest times are:

1. Sauber C9 (3:13,3)
2. Minolta Toyota (3:13,5)
3. Formula (3:15,3)
4. Mazda 787B Black edition (3:21,5) - don't have the "original model"
5. Nissan R92CP (3:21,9)

(Please don't laugh :nervous: )

These are driven on R/M (or S/M) tyres and without ASM or TCS. I am using G25 wheel.

Have you tested this track? How are the lap times?

I just finished the 24 hour Le Sarthe I race, a-specced the whole thing.

My best lap was 3.21.301, using the black Mazda 787B, without changing the oil or getting a chassis refresh, and R2 tires front, R1 back.

EDIT: Also added some ballast and reduced the downforce to get 200 A-spec points, so I guess the car wasn't completely stock..

No, not really.

That said, info like this is nice to have around to stop the OMG WAT CR SHD I BY FR THA GT WURLD CHMPINSHIP?!?!?! threads.

I think i got into the 3:11 range with my C60 Pescarolo, but don't quote me on it. this is the Mulsanne Chicaned Sarthe, Jah?

3:06 or 3:08 with my FGT, IIRC.

I'm not laughing. I have gotten just about the same times. give or take 3 or 4 seconds on each run. I think I got 3:09.500 on the NISSAN R92CP.
I had RSS tires though.

i got 2:54 with the audie R8

On the chicaned circuit? I doubt it.....you are probably mixing it up with the Circuit La Sarthe II (the un-chicaned cicruit).

Myself, I can record 3:12s, but I can rarely break through any quicker than that. gt-ile, don't be ashamed, they are all decent times for those cars, and with practise, I'm sure you'll get them even quicker! :)

I have about 4 hours left in the 24 hour Le Sarthe I race where I'm running a stock Audi R8 on Racing hard tires front and back. My best lap time at this point is 3:21:565.

Although I can't say that I'm running all out for the best time each lap.
I'm more or less trying to stretch out the distance between pit stops.
Most of my lap times fall between 3:23 and 3:30 which is about par with the second place car in the event. (R92CP) But where I'm walking away from him is in time spent in the pits. The R92CP is pitting every 7 laps like clock work, where as I have managed to stay out for 10 laps having to enter the pits in need of fuel. (I take on tires anyway because it takes to long to fuel back up.)
Usually when I enter the pits, my tires are on the verge of turning orange, or have an orange tint to them, and I have between 1 to 3 units of fuel left.

Here is a fun fact that I can't say that I have read here: Once your fuel guage goes completely empty, you still have an additional 4 units of fuel left.

What kind of times you get on Chaparral 2J? Mine is 3:29,7 at so far... I think I could do a lot better than that with a little practise.

EDIT: Now I tried again and I got 3:24,1 with RM tyres... It was faster than Toyota GT-ONE Race Car.

FINALLY!!! 24 complete!!

In the final hour I started putting the peddel down to see what kind of times I could pull off.

Aside from having spent oil and a seriously wracked frame, I managed to pull a best lap of 3:19.621 in the R8. I could probably knock a second or 2 off that time after refreshing the frame, changing the oil and cleaning up the car a bit.

At least then I wouldn't have to worry about having to combat the slight twitch the car randomly developed during a lap.

Wow, good job! How many A-spec points did that pick up? I need to really get down and do some of the enduros, I've spent too much of my time doing races in the European and Japanese halls.:ouch:

hmm...

In the BMW Mclaren F1 GTR Race Car 97' without any upgrades(NAtuning stage 3 or turbo or cheapy NOS)

With the ASM off and some suspension and gearing adjustments I've pulled a 3:33 time..:yuck: not good until you factor the lack of downforce and horsepower compared to the LMP's...

I've been playing around with it cause I like The Mclaren F1, with a Stage 3 NA tuning giving the car around 799 or 800 hp, I could probably pull off a closer time.. When I do the 24hour la sarthe I'll probably try to win it with this, if not then I just grab my Toyota GT-1....

A stock Audi R8, on race hard tires only gave me 10 points against the following line up.

Nissan R92CP
Nissan R89C
Audi R8
Pescarolo PlayStation Pescarolo C60/Judd Race Car 2004
Chevrolet Corvette C5R

I was a little bummed out that it wasn't more than that. But my intention from when I first decided to A-spec the race wasn't for the points, but to be able to say that I had completed it 100% on my own with out the help of the B-spec pilot.

The Audi was an amazing car to drive for the event. The way I have it set it didn't appear to suffer that bad when the chassie became warped. Maybe once every 10 laps the car would become uncontrolable. What would typically happen was I would be braking before entering a turn, and the back of the car would slid out and I would end up in the sand.

Getting back on topic though. Now that I have compleated the race, I was able to check to see what times I had posted in practice laps.

My two top laps were from the Audi R8 and the blackk Nissan R92CP.

Both were in the 3:12 time with only a couple tenths seperating them. The Nissan held the top spot.

Today I tried the R92CP Nissan again, and I got a new lap record: 3:12,6... the previous Nissan-time was 3:21,9... (with RM tyres of course, stock as always)

My Sauber C9 time is 3:13,3... I'll try tomorrow to beat that.

EDIT: Last week I tried both Minolta and Sauber to beat that R92... and - naturally - they both were faster. Now my top times are:

1. Sauber 3:09,4
2. Minolta 3:10,5
3. Nissan R92CP 3:12,6
4. Audi R8 3:14,3
5. Formula GT 3:15,3

What's your best time with a stock Sauber with RM tyres?

MORE EDIT: It has been a long time ago when I timed that Formula's 3:15,3 track time, so I tried it again hoping that I could beat "a couple of LMPs..."

I would say that Formula beat them to death this time

I got 3:04,4 track record with stock Formula and RM tyres.

I think if you read the thread, you would find out a couple of times to beat.

I did many laps around the Sarthe 1 (chicanes)
I used Fully "Stock" Race Cars with R3 Tires.

moved all my times on new updated thread Here

in gran turismo 4 you only win cars that aren't for sale. i have six million dollars right now and was just supercar shopping when i saw that the audi R8 was for sale. on all the cheat sites it says you win the R8 by doing circuit de la sarthe 1 24 hour endurance. is this true or are the cheat sites wrong. Could someone give me advice on what car to buy, like which is the greatest.
Here are the cars I'm debating between:
Audi R8
Mazda 787B
BMW V12 LMR
Peugot 905 Race Car
Toyota GT-One
PlayStation Pescarolo C60

I have beat the Nurburing 24 hour endurance but not the sarthe endurance. I have the minolta toyota, formula gran turismo, and the clk-gtr race car. I just won the minolta toyota and almost won the R92CP in Fuji 1000km but after I won the race, the game froze

You can buy or win the R8. There's a few other cars like that too.

Now, out of that group, the Audi and Pescarolo are two of the best. I'd go for the Pescarolo and win the Audi in Sarthe 1, then use your Minolta in Sarthe 2. The Bentley you get in the second race is pretty good too.

Or get the 787B if you want a nice engine sound screaming down the Mulsanne straight.

dudeman, next time you have a question like that, please use the correct forum. That was a completely off-topic post and has nothing to do with the Sarthe lap time challenge that is the subject of this thread. First, you should look in the Guides section at the very top of the page (where "News" and "Forums" are), and if you can't find what you're looking for there, do a search for the information you want in the Gran Turismo 4 forum. I guarantee you'll find many threads discussing exactly what you want to know.

Cool! :) I got about 3'10.XXX with the black Mazda 787B (also using RSS tires).

I am running a time of 3:39:xxx, i don't know the exact time. I know its not that good but I'm working on it because I don't usually run this track

Toyota GTOne
615hp
900 +30 Kg
Racing Soft Tires

2005 version or 2009 version?

This is a thread from 4 years ago so they are talking about GT4. I would hope a mod can move this thread to the GT4 section of the forums so it doesn't confuse people.
