Circumventing NASCAR's forced ABS?

so i hit a brick wall in this game

I've tried for hours today with A-Spec's NASCAR Daytona race. Best I could do was half a car's length behind the lead.

I really want to get the Gold Standard but it just seems impossible with this forced ASM and ABS bs.

If I delete GT5's game data and reinstalled would I be able to play this game with ABS off, making it easier? I didn't use the brakes at all so if even if I have ABS off would this help?

Watch out NASCARs are heavy.

HeHe seriously though the NASCARs were giving me fits as well...lots of practice and improved all around driving skills let me beat it eventually. After the first time you beat it it gets easier. Think part of it is learning to drive with those aids on instead of fighting against them.
 
Its not ABS you want rid of it's ASM!

Map the R/A function to your D pad with L3 click to bring it up.

Now turn off as soon as you start.

Tip: be quick!

Didn't work for me this way, it may have been patched. I could get the asm toggle to come up but it wouldn't let me change it.

Follow Jimmie Johnson and your start is key. With basic settings and about 50 tries I beat it with no setting changes.

That won't work. First PD patched it so you couldn't turn ASM off with the R/A menu, then they patched it so you couldn't turn ABS off either (because shutting ABS off was a way to force ASM off even though it was stuck on).

If you are doing the nascar school, then turn ABS TO 10, otherwise i don't know, abs 10 actually helps believe it or not in the nascar school and may work in your aspec or wherever in the game you are

I was going to say ABS 10 and then switch brake bias to 0/0.

^^^ This for a really easy gold, worked for me no problems :crazy:
 
I did the Nascar challenges on my second profile last night.

I had no trouble turning ABS off... is this a problem with the update in certain regions only?
