I was SO looking forward to winning and driving the Citroën GT Race Car! Then I got it and discovered it's slow (like seriously slow) and practically impossible to drive with cockpit view! It has a really skinny windshield, it's hard to tell where your wheels or the sides of the car are at because you're so enclosed in the cockpit, and on top of that, the extreme saturation of colors outside the windshield makes the road look almost completely featureless and white... at least when you're able to see the road. :(

Oh, I haven't driven any of the other ones! I guess it would make sense that they're all the same, or nearly so.

As a side-question, does anyone know why the colors are so bright and washed-out with certain cockpits? I noticed it in this car on a regular road, and I noticed it in snow rally stages, where the cockpit view makes the snow so bright that you can't tell what the surface looks like well enough to drive. It doesn't make any sense.
 
Have you try changing the cockpit position? Standard to narrow, narrow to narrower?
 
It doesn't really help. The car was a design study. It wasn't intended to be practical, and as a result it has blind spots the size of Alaska even when looking directly out the front of the car.
 
Hehe! Seems like a Citroën trend. The C4 WRC has a terrible view as well with the top 1/4 of the windshield being blacked out...
 
I disagree.
The cockpit of the GTbyCITROEN is challenging. I see it as a
challenge.

Because the car is very very good. To steer you in the cockpit
need to have technique. That's why I love this car!

Good point! I forgot about that. I couldn't stand to drive with that in cockpit view either, since half the time you couldn't see the road. That car really made me question how accurate the modeling is, because why would any car designer make it purposely difficult to see where you're going in a race car?!

It looks like a F22 Raptor cockpit or something. I don't like it, but at least it doesn't have a single gear like in Prologue.
 
Just got this car, and you are absolutely right.

Narrow window, very low driver position makes for a shallow angle to the sun, turning all roads to whiteout, hard to judge the size of your car - easily bump into others, and maybe my biggest gripe is the sunstrip on the windscreen that is mirroring the road, VERY distracting, especially when you're taking a curb.

Apart from that, it looks fantastic, and drives fairly well.
 
Yup, definitely one of the worst cockpits. The Citroen GT Race Car cockpit is tied with the Citroen GT Road Car, and as well as the GT by Citroen Concept '08. ;) Looks kinda cool though, just not practical.
 
best in the game, if you ask me.

i never, ever race in cockpit view for any reason... but when i get a new Premium car, i'll check out the inside of the new ride.

there's nothing practical about the car. it's not meant to be.
it's meant to be awesome, and it is.

you get to race around inside the Batmobile. you should be sending Polyphony Digital a gift basket, not complaining about it.
 
I was going to use it for the laguna endurance race, but when i started the race the road was just a glare hot burn on my eyes and could not see a thing at all to begin with because the window was so darn narrow.

If there is a worse one i have not driven it yet.

Same for a lot of JGTC Cars and WRC in real life. Basically is a big sun visor, but also, the driver doesnt need to see the sky, just the track.
 
I saw this car in Paris 2 years ago. Was a nice looking thing. First French car I actually like tbh :p

It's not a race car but for me the worst cockpit view is the Murciélago LP670-4 SuperVeloce. You're far too close to the wheel. It's really, really bad. Makes the cockpit view totally unusable for me.
