Yea this is a stupid old car and no one cares right? Well, I just found something odd when I was upgrading it...let's see if anyone else has encountered this.

Won the Citroen 2CV type A '54 and started upgrading it to complete the 2CV race and upgrades the following parts in the following order (probably doesn't matter but still):

1) Racing Exhaust
2) Port Polish
3) Stage 1 Turbo
4) Engine Balancing

Then I went to put on the Racing Chip and the BHP actually shows it being REDUCED by 3BHP...wtf is this? Is this normal? Needless to say I haven't bought it yet.

That IS strange ! I know sometimes if you install a turbo on some cars then try an NA tune it lowers the HP significantly, but racing chip surely can't be the same thing ?

Strictly speaking a car this age wouldn't have have an engine management computer - so this sort of upgrade shouldn't be available.

If you're having a hard time winning the race, just install Nitrous and nothing else, and -----forget about it!:indiff: 60 points awarded!
A 1954 sewing machine engine with Nitrous??
PD's brain, works like no1 elses :D <-- PD

impressive, i bet you got some good top speed with all of those vortex generators.

just wanted to say vortex genorator :dopey:

Had to get a full racing gearbox to stop it topping out at 54MPH (86KPH). Managed to get it up to 80MPH (128KPH) at points, I know it'd do better on longer straights.

It isn't. If you place a turbo then a NA tune it removes the turbo.

I think it´s strange you actually can chip a car from the 50´s.
Your right, That old car can't be chipped, It can be Jetted out i'm sure but not chipped, That could be the reason for the negative effect, It would of been better to not include a chip option at all in this case........IMO!

I've always assumed that the computer upgrade in GT was more like a stand alone engine management system than a chip. $1000 seems more reasonable if you think of it like that IMO. Plus in real life for about that you can upgrade an old carbed car to a basic FI . I never really thought of it as just a chip...

I wonder if it hurts the ultimate HP on the 2CV but beefs up the curve in the lower revs or works better with a different combo of mods...

Probably not, probably just another error...

2CV + Nitros = Doors fall off?
Right?

- Nitrous helps Weight reduction then! Im pretty sure the doors wouldnt be missed, you could take out seatbelts too, dont think youll be needing them seen as they struggle to hit any speed close to fast!

Im sure the last time I saw a real life 2CV it was mainly built of cardboard covering the holes?

So i doubt they weigh much anyways :dopey:

Right? :)

Reminds me when Top Gear used the Jet Engine's thrust to tear a 2CV apart...now that was funny stuff.

hey guys, this is what you win when you complete the 2hp-2cv cup!!!!

THE LEGENDARY PINK CITROEN 2CV!!!! And to make it even more ridiculous, i put some gold daytons on, lowered the car to it's lowest and fitted a nitrous kit!!!!

(daytons not included!!!)

No way, you will need the seat belts to hold you in place, otherwise, when you make a turn, the G-FORCE will make you fly out of the car :scared: , so, make your choice, no doors(to hold you in) or no seatbelts??
Luke, Luke, use the G-Force
BTW, the other guy said his car trans topped out @ 86kmh?
Howcome mine reaches 98kmh (downhill hehehe)with just nitro??
Oh yea, cos nitro pushes it more :dopey:
BTW 2, if every race has 200 points available, but it seems that no matter what, even with a stock car, this race only awards at the most 60 points, how do i get the other 140?:irked: I wonder if ..by using economy tires?? Or perhaps, by removing 2 wheels?💡
And who said you can't chip an old car? Even an old timer.. likes chips, potato chips!!

I always thought of it as air/fuel tuning and ignition timing changes (which is all chips did before shift-points etc. were added). Would it have been that much trouble to change the text on the carb cars to "Carb Tune"? As far as I'm concerned, they could have left the little chip icon. (of course we'd all be b****ing about that)

Anyways 💡 I'm going to do some GT4 carb chip research later on.
