Citroen GT Concept in B-Spec Races (where pit is required)

I tried using the Citroen GT Concept (electric) in the European C'ship in B-Spec Extreme. 20 laps of Rome, tyres were OK but on lap 10 less than half a tank of 'fuel'.
Entered pit to replenish and only tyres were changed. By lap 16 the fuel guage diminished leaving Bob pootling round at 50mph limit.
Pitting again wouldn't allow re-fuel (or should that be charge?)
Has anyone else noticed this?

It's not possible to recharge the batteries.

Even if you could, it'll probably take like 3 hours anyway..
