So I just came across this interesting game while browsing youtube for some rfactor Onboards. From what little I know about this game, here's some things:

-Its from Russia (which as far as I'm aware, makes it the first Russia Driving Sim)

-Costs $24.99 to buy if your buying just the latest version (1.2 to be exact), $4.99 if you've purchased the previous version.

-Has only Nine default vehicles in the game (none of which are licensed yet three of them can easily be identified) but thanks to mods, many more can be added for it.

Here's some videos of it (all with mods):

Overall interesting looking game to me, wonder if anyone here has either heard of this or played it. I'm considering trying it myself.

I bought the game about a year ago. My PC couldn't run it and I haven't gotten around to upgrading yet. Probably next month. It does look great, multiplayer would be a blast!

What's the point of the game? Is it just a "Take a car and drive it responsibly" kind of simulator? Cause, if that's the point, I'd rather rent a Mercedes with a old lady for a chauffeur. That way I would have that new car and Metamucil smell.

You can use an Xbox controller for games on Windows, right? If this game supports that, I'd definitely get it.

It can't be Russia, there's no easily-avoidable, probably-intentional collisions, people so drunk that they crawl across the road in the middle of rush hour, or commuters completely unphased by a meteor burning up in the atmosphere before their very eyes.

2/10 - Moskva says "nyet!"

From the site itself:

The car driving game named "City Car Driving" is a new car simulator, designed to help users feel the car driving in а big city or in a country in different conditions or go just for a joy ride. Special stress in the "City Car Driving" simulator has been laid on variety of road situations and realistic car driving.

It's definitely no race car game but the thing is, it doesn't try to be. I think with a few upgrades this would be great for new drivers. In fact, I think it would help new drivers boost their confidence somewhat. :)

I would get the game and drive like a complete maniac. Or mod the stats of the car. I watched one guy play that street cleaning simulator which looks like its made by the same people and he gave his truck 10000hp and was flying through the sky.

This looks like something that I would enjoy, it is something like this that I have always wanted to be included into the driving part of games like the GTA series, it would be awesome. With wheels, pedals and realistic shifting combined with a good notion of speed.

As an instructional tool I can see the point of these games but as something to do for fun, for entertainment? I'll never understand it and I'll certainly never understand those that want something like this in Gran Turismo. If you want to drive like that, there's a real world out there.

^ For years I'd drive "realistically" in my driving games until I was actually old enough to get a license. Not all the time, but it was something to do between racing. The Need for Speed was particularly immersive with its point-to-point road courses and cops you could pass without incident if you were within the speed limit. Then you could drop the hammer and zip up to 120mph until the next corner or cop showed up.

Today I do enough driving (about 16k miles a year) that all of my virtual cruising is at high speed.
