I hate the F430...worst car in game
I've tried for the last 6 hours to beat the event but every time i get 7th
the car has the worst braking and handling on earth IMO

any advice on how to beat this challenge?
very desperate to beat this..:nervous:

BTW i put it on the most noob setup to help myself ex: AT, driving line, standard feed back....helped a bit

If ur talking about Class A-8 where you have to overtake everyone, don't worry. You still get what you need in the game & makes no difference. 3rd & up i'm ok with. Slipstream your way thru everyone & learn to weave slightly.

Turn all driving aids off, and slipstream. Don't touch the brakes, and always pass the cars on the inside. Just don't get wound up or you'll make mistakes. make sure you have no GT's in the top 3.

Oddly enough, I just cleared that one last night - took about 5 or 6 tries and I couldn't agree more with you about the F430 - the key for me was to overtake the first 2 cars in the very first turn (sadly I had to use them in the process to brake me). By the time you get back onto the back stretch you need to be at least past the first half of the cars and sitting in 7th or 8th. Drafting from there really helps and then using some of the other cars to help you brake again around the Chicane area - I came in 3rd and said that's good enough for me but I might revisit it later now that I've opened up the tuning section - call me anal but all Gold looks pretty sweet.

I had just the F430 last night and after toodling around in the Dodge Viper SRT10 I just couldn't get used to it - took it out online last night and was shocked that it maxed out around 195 mph on the Daytona Oval. Where is 7th gear on that thing anyway? :)

The one event you are trying seems very frustrating at first but focus on the first 6 turns and I think you'll get it. Nice thing is that those turns are over fairly quick so if you need to restart you haven't wasted 4 minutes of racing.

Good Luck - You Can Do It!

also set it to standard physics...its nearly impossible to get top 3 in professional

Don't blame the car. It is one of the best balanced car ever built. Search for movies on Youtube, might give you a hint.

I love the F430...its a difficult car to drive fast, but once you get to feel the balance, it is an awesome car!

It takes a very different driving style to drive the F430 with MR layout, compared to FF, 4WD cars...I think it is a lot better than FR cars for sure.

The trick is to not over drive the car. It is a fast car and very easy to overdrive. It is the most balance when on the throttle...so brake early, and get back on the gas early...but be very gentle in feeding the power back on to it. Once you get used to countersteering and correcting the tail twitch when you are aggressive with the throttle, you can be really fast in the F430.

I too had a problem w/this test. I asked for help and the members here directed me to some youtube vids and that really helped. If you do a search on this forum you should be able to find them, search "Class A-8 Help". LinPark has it right, you have to clear those first two cars in the first turn and stay to the inside.

YESSSSS!!!! I GOT BRONZE!!!!
THANKS FOR THE ADVICE GUYS!!
YESSSSS!!! NO MORE NIGHTMARES!!!! lol

btw how do i change my avatar to my own custom one?

LinPark has it right

Wow, maybe I'm not as new as I thought. Honestly, I think the best advice was this from GT_Fanatic:

Just don't get wound up or you'll make mistakes

After the second try on this one I literally jumped out of my seat and almost put my hand through the wall. Then I calmed down and just drove.

Oh yeah, that A-8 is difficult one...took a ot of tried to get it..then I realize i was in "professional"...I put it in standard and got bronze the first time I tried! :)

It's not exactly sporting, but I found that braking late enough to ram the right side of the car in front of me as I braked for turn 1 would both slow me enough to make the corner and also give me a collision penalty, which I used to my advantage to ghost through the next two cars as they braked for turn 2. The penalty would be lifted by the time I got into the midcorner of turn 2 and I could accelerate out, no problem. I was able to do this more consistently than passing the cars cleanly...I'm not sure what that says about me... :scared:

What collision and ghosting? I haven't seen this in professional mode.

A friend of mine came over to help me finish A-8, but we didn't get anywhere past 6th place after an hour of trying. We ended up playing Rock Band for the rest of the day. :ouch: Two days later, it took me around five time trial laps and fifteen attempts to reach 3rd place in the F430. The hard part was getting back on the throttle quickly after corners, but not enough to break the rear wheels loose.

I noticed that I did not have to pass the first two cars right at the first turn; I overtake them on the straight that follows. I could still make it beside the F40 before reaching the oval if I drove cleanly. Turning early instead of braking for the first fifth gear curve helped.

Ahh, I should've mentioned I used the collision/ghosting trick in standard physics. I tried professional, but couldn't get any higher than bronze...
