Only had GT5 Prologue for one day and already got all Gold for C and B class except for B-3 event.

How do you get better than 1:14.000 with the Evo IX on Eiger Nordwand?
My best is 1:16.xxx
This track isn't the best for slipstreaming and even so, when drafting behind the Corvette, I still can't beat the time. Surely this must be possible some how?

Transmission: Manual
TC: off
ASM: off
Steering Assist: off
Physics: Professional

I will keep practicing; maybe my race lines are a bit off?
Have you got gold on this event?

you need to do it in standard mode and even then it's not the easiest. Yes I did gold it after I realised it has to be done in standard mode. I think I silvered it in professional but i can't remember if it was the evo or the other trial.

I'm doing the m3 trial atm and am .1 off a gold time in standard. I keep losing speed through s2 then i seem to stuff up s3 from pressure when i get s2 right out of luck. lol

Will try once the missus is finished watching "So you think you can dance" hehe
Thanks heaps for that. If you want to do some online racing my user ID is RJS_7SINS

Stupid question: What do you mean by S2 and S3 with the BMW trial?

just meaning the timesplits. so s1 is from start line to first timesplit, s2 to the next timesplit and s3 to the final timesplit.

Will add you after I boot the ps3 up after rove.

Good luck 7Sins!

The Evo at Eiger is a toughy to say the least! Keep on it though. You'll get into a good rhythm and then realise all of a sudden where you've been going wrong!

That's what i did!

Also, J-Pap. Sector splits are referred to by T:xx:xx:xxx in GT as is the norm in most high level motorsport.

I am so confused as to why they included two options of physics. It's like TOCA 3, Sim and Pro Sim. It polarizes the community.

Quite simple.

Like TRD3, the Gran Turismo series has two very different target markets, the vast majority of buyers want it as a quick fix of pretty cars that do not challenge them too much when driving. The standard physics model keeps them happy (and we need them to buy the game to fund future versions).

Those of us who want the most accurate physics model do not actually make up the majority of buyers of any racing game series (hence the reason most hard-core sim only models sell very badly) and the reason why up to now the GT series physics have always had compromises (such as ABS being always on).

It effectively keeps everyone happy (or does its best too) and I can honestly say I don't think it will polarize this community at all, the vast majority of members here do not follow the general trend. Take a look around we have almost all been asking for better and more realistic physics for years. The community here will embrace the professional physics, and most will understand the reason why the standard physics need to exist if the GT series is going to remain commercially viable.

However the game should reflect the difficulty chosen. Not force users to use a physics model they do not prefer to be able to get gold in a race. Thats where an improvement needs to be made now with GT5.

^^

I agree. I love the professional physics mode but it seems impossible to get Gold in the B-3 event. If anyone has has earned "Gold" on this event using the professional physics (and not come back later with the quick tune) then I applaud you (some vision wouldn't go astray either). I ended up with a low 1:15 on this setting but as soon as I changed to standard mode, jeez, how much easier!!!

Yeah I guess your right. I'll just have to get used to driving both. Will make for some interesting first corners if I do not know which I am driving. :dunce:

Using standard physics for the B-3 event has made it so much more easy. My best now is 1:14.295

Bit more to go.

since you have experienced standard and pro physics on the same course over and over... kind to advice what's the obvious difference you've seen from the two physics?

I'm also having trouble mastering the course, I've been using pro all along and I'm no pro at all, first GT game too.

Thanks

The car will have higher grip levels so will get around corners at higher speed, less wheelspin and the car is easier to drive.
ie, it wont oversteer all the time if it is a rwd car

All the time trials have to be done in standard mode. Might be also for the 1 lap dashes either from b or a class and up. The rest are all doable in professional mode.
