i too played one of them with the schwimm. actually, i tried a myriad of old, underpowered cars starting with the lowest PP and worked my way up until i found a good challenge for each race. :)

Last night I won at Eifel with a Carol 360 Deluxe '62! Couldn't do better than 10th on any of the other tracks, but then it only has 2 cylinders and 57bhp - fully tuned!

Don't touch the brakes... :sly:

I done it in my Alfa Romeo GIULIA TZ2 '65 race car, amazed at it, coz it was my first time driving it, and it can go on two wheels easily!
Love it tho!

Split the races between the Alpha TZ2 and the AC Cobra.

I daresay the Cobra was much more satisfying to drive whereas the TZ2 was much more pleasing.

I detuned my 330P4 and took all the downforce off the car to get it to 550PP - what a blast !

I went with the RM'd '69 Camaro, with the power turned down to 50% (274hp or so). Car was an absolute blast to drive, but still passed everybody on the first lap. Gained a newfound respect for that car, though, and enjoyed it more with LESS power!

To get back on topic...I just took Da Schwimm for a ride around Laguna Seca. No, my 64 hp Schwimm didn't win, but it was fun! I tried cutting every corner, even going airbourne in the corkscrew, and doing some offensive driving. I hit the 11th place car in the last corner, then held him off by running him into the wall on the left for a satisfying 11th place finish!

Now, on to wreak havoc on the Eifel course!

No BS, I've done it too and won at Laguna. It's tuned pretty well to the max obviously, and used some er, creative lines but it's easily do-able. Just need to be very careful wiz zee comedy brakes! :yuck:

I used the Karmann Ghia. Had to do some slight tuning to make it compete. It was a blast.

I took the S800 race car.. quite challenging on the monza circuit since the lack of top speed. (no oil change, no mods)

I turned down the hp on my GT40 Race car , was really enjoyable and the balance was glorious. Did it with hard tyres so I could get the back out on the twisty bits.

I have been buying and driving every car i can enter those classic races and enjoying
every minute of them !
No mods except Sports soft-Sports Susp-Oil change.
There is some really good testing races to be had !
Keep up the good work PD.

This challenge has been a breath of fresh air, First round with the Alfa (P) with comfort softs and then a detuned cobra with comfort softs.

Yes I think I've replayed these more than any previous events.
Got a bit fed up with not being able to use my Mini-Marcos as it's a year too young, so took to the FF challenge and replayed those with it instead. What a sweet drive.
Inspired by that, entered the Alpha into the FR - old cars rock. 👍

Here's a pic of the finish at Tokyo. .048 at the line, with a lot of rubbin' and blockin'

As I stated in the other thread, I was able to win all 5 races with the Schimm. Monza and Tokyo were the toughest.

I've been using cars from Nation of racetrack location Monza = Italy, Laguna Seca = USA, Tokyo = Japan, Eifel = France/Germany, Cape Ring = the rest as I don't know exactly where it is supposed to be

My 840bhp Buick Special had marginally too many PPs (4!), so I just used a roadgoing '69 camaro. Blimey those Mazdas are quick! Not quick enough though.:sly:
