I've set up a new program, basically, you send me your classic car, I TOTALLY restore it (and tune it if you want), and then send you it back.

It means it will cost you nothing to restore/tune your car.

I keep a copy of the car, that's all.

Does anybody fancy the idea?

If you want to find some cars why dont you just hit the marketplace?
With 1mill trade limit, plus the seasonal events that in a few mins you can have millions there is no car too expensive to restore.
Also why someone would want to send and receive a car just for restore, when at the same time he can just go to marketplace and with a little patience get a 0/0/0 car?

What do you even mean by restore? It's not like you have a ton of body and engine work to take care of. It's just a game, there's no real restoring to be done that we can't do ourselves...

This. Depending on what car it is you're restoring it could cost $300,000-$500,000 for the full overhaul, possibly including wheels and a new shiny coat of paint. However, if you can find people who are broke then I'm sure they'd want your help.

Although I agree this thread would be better placed in the Marketplace forum, I do think 'tis a reasonably good idea, actually. Does one receive ones car restored to zero miles also?

Engine & Chassis, which can cost many hundreds of thousands. As I'm sure you know.

How could I possibly reset the miles? Or are you just being snide?

That's pretty much the idea^
Thanks for supporting the idea. :)

I'm aware that not alot of people would have <1million credit cars that they would want this done to, but that's perhaps a good thing, seeing as how I dont like having lots of tranactions to deal with.

It's more or less to also help me build on the number of small classics I have. I love tuning small cars (Micras, 205, 5, Fit/Jazz etc. You name it) and trading them in free run lobbies.

All this can easily be accomplished by setting up a second GT5 profile and using a restore ticket. No need to spend any credits.

Any of the classic cars cost at most 70,000 for an engine rebuild. Less for the chassis. A person can get this in a single race. Not a very good idea.

Bear in mind not everbody has these.

I think Eric W was referring to the fact that every GT5 account is granted FREE 10 each of the oil change, engine rebuild, chassis restoration, and full car restoration tickets. It's those full car restoration tickets that will put everything back to brand-new condition (engine rebuild, chassis restoration, miles 0/0/0). Although I personally have not used any of my full restoration tickets -- I am saving them for when my favorite cars get really worn out and beat up -- this is what I have read here on GTP. Can anyone confirm this please?

Oh, right. That makes sense. I thought he just meant the 0 mileage tickets you get after buying DLC.

Everyone should receive these restoration tickets when they create another GT5 account. Then if you backup your gamesave of the alt account, restore and send your car to your main account and then restore the gamesave for the alt account the you still have all your restore tickets. Grant it that you can only restore and send you tradable cars if you want to keep all of your restore tickets.

So why not just offer to restore ANY car? What's so special about the classics? Being carist are we?
