Ok, so I gave my Cuda 440 hard racing tyres and I was definately doing much better against the AI as opposed to when I had hard sports. I was consistently battling for 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Would my acceleration improve even further if I put racing softs?

You don't gain so much acceleration but you have better grip in the turns meaning you can drive slightly faster ...
