Yesterday, I join a Ferrari only room racing at Monza. I'm qualifying, and there's one jerk-off who is playing around at the finish line. As I'm approaching, he get's in my way and ramms me. So I hit him, and then the race starts. I probably should have bailed at that point but I was bored and there were no good rooms at the time. The race starts, and I cleanly make my way to first from third on the straight. Probably a bad idea, because everyone plows into me at turn 1 (expected). A couple people quit, and now there are 4 of us-including the jerk-off who rammed me into turn 1. Turns out it's the same ballbag that playing around in qual that I mentioned earlier. I catch up to him a lap later, and give him a taste of his own in turn 4. Everyone else has quit but us two. He tries catching up to me over the next 2 laps, but can't get close. As expected, I was kicked by the room owner before I could finish. Online has gotten bad, lately.
The point of my story (other than to entertain you), is this:
If you create a room that you expect clean racing in, and title it as such, take the room with you when you quit. Don't set the room up to transfer to another person, as they start allowing and transferring to idiots who don't practice or enforce what the room title represents. I think this is the easiest way we can start to clean up online racing. What do you think?

What part of 'giving him a taste of his own' is clean to you and not deserving of a kick?

The Ferrrari room wasn't marked a "clean" room. As soon as It got ugly, I got ugly-but not before. This just gave me the idea of fixing rooms so that they don't transfer, that's all. Believe me when I tell you I always do things like: stay out of people's lines, avoid contact at all costs, etc. In a dirty room, I get dirty sometimes. Anyone who says they don't get pissed and take revenge for misconduct every now and then is full of it.

It's not the host's fault if somebody who takes over after he leaves doesn't enforce his rules, and doesn't change the title to reflect that. Floating host rooms are convenient, particularly if there are a couple of the host's friends in the room with him, so he can leave or get D/C'd and come back if necessary.

Try setting up a dirty racers room.
Fill it up and leave.

At least some of the scum bags are occupied. Might find a clean room then.

Good idea, but they usually get sick of each other and join "clean" rooms that someone set up and left to other jerks like them.
This is why I urge every clean racer that starts a room, to be sure to fix the host status, and close the room when they leave.

Maybe all the others left and waited in the lobby for everyone else to quit. Maybe you two were the only ones that were driving on and on, while everyone else wanted to resart. Who knows maybe the other guy got kicked aswell.

The problem with that is, not everyone has enough bandwidth to accomodate rooms with 16 on track when set to fixed host, I have 14mbps download & 750kbps upload, & can only manage 12 max.

:(

Paying some one back in the race after he messed around in practice got you what you deserved. If it was all in the race that'd be different but then your dropping to their level and being dirty as well. Pass them and drive by esp if you caught up, you should be able to pass.

To your point i hate that too!

Too bad we won't be alive to see the Sony Playstation 10, featuring Holographic Person to Person Combat with motor reflex and pain receptor sensation. I'd put it to good use to those that don't drive clean in my rooms.

You asked for a chance to be kicked. Make a good example and he will feel bad when you overtake him without making a scratch.

Not all racers who play in dirty rooms are scumbags. I play in dirty rooms because I find that most clean rooms don't allow bump drafting.

I never, ever join rooms that have Fixed Host Status. It takes a while to find a room, load up, wait for a race to finish/start etc. And all that time will be wasted if the host decides to quit. Then I'll have to start the search all over again.
You'll save a lot of time by making extra effort to find a good room that doesn't have Fixed Host Status.

This is how i set up rooms. Have 2-3 mates join as soon as i create it just in case one of us need to back out or get disconnected, one of the other players (mates) take over the reigns and the room is still enforced to suit the room title. If we all go everyone goes (gets kicked) before we close it down.

Some clean rooms are somewhat ridiculous, sometimes. I was racing at the 'ring with no assists. The racing was fairly clean (one lap runs) A pack of 5 running down out of Aremburg, and I moved over some to let a faster guy go, I hit the grass a touch with the left side and lost some control in the braking zone (I was practically sideways trying to save it while breaking). I accidently ran into the back of the host with a 10 MPH difference and I suppose he wrecked. I got bumped faster than I could type in an apology (as it's almost impossible to get one in trying to race on the 'ring anyways).
I guess my point is that incidental contact get's blown out of whack in "clean" rooms. Something like this has happened a few times to me. I value myself as a clean driver, as I'd never wreck someone on purpose racing online. Although--- in this instance, I think the host just was pissed that I made him lose the race.

You rammed him, point invalided
:sly: You said "invalided" point invalided.

But really, are we at that point where we actually blame people for retaliating?
Pretty sad, but I guess when we can all hide and maybe some of us are the problem, it's easier to tell people to let us have our fun when we try to ruin others' gameplay.
