My first post! Can we get Sony Interactive Entertainment's Polyphony Digital to help clean up Driving in Championship events? My idea to do this is penalize multiple attempts at entering each event. I don't have time to reattempt the championship events over and over. In the real race world you only get one shot.
Maybe The more times you enter a Championship event in a single day you are awarded less and less points for each additional attempt? Like your first attempt start out with a maximum possible points. You risk them. The next time you have given points to risk and so on and so on. I feel like this might make people drive less aggressive. Dose anyone have any ideas how to implement this?

When originally introduced they were one-and-done events. This proved unpopular, so you now have multiple opportunities - and for the last few years up to 10 outside of the top, qualification-eligible division.

I'm not sure they'd want to walk this back.

As only your final entry counts, this effectively already happens. If you enter a race and get disconnected, you score zero. Should that be the final race you enter - or the last slot available - you score zero.

You are only risking your previous attempt points. Not really a risk if you're risking the points from a race that you ruined because you wrecked yourself while dive-bombing to front of the leaders. You have like 8 attempts to drive like a maniac till you get the results you want. If your second attempt is only awarded say 75% of the maximum possible points then you may take your first attempt like it was your last.

So, you're saying that on the other hand, if you're the victim of one of those aggressors and first race gets ruined, your second attempt will only be worth 75% of the points through no fault of your own?

Not to mention that the winner of a championship online race usually gets a raise in Driver Rating, which in turn is going to pit said winner against higher DR-ranked players in the next championship race he joins for more points, provided that he didn’t get his DR capped, or dropped due to his Sportsmanship Rating being too low (which I guess is pretty rare?). So the dirty-driving bastard who rammed his way to victory is, if OP’s mechanism gets adopted, gonna get a boost in points at play for the next round to mitigate his 25% reduction, whereas those who race cleanly but suffered from a lowered finishing position as a result of the bastard’s antics are just gonna get penalized for nothing.

Yeah, this suggestion is not gonna work, OP.

Yes it's pretty silly repeating the same race over and over again, specially short daily A and B races. I tend to avoid dailies and just focus on Manufacturers and Nations, and when they are not available i do Time Trials and maybe some daily C where people are not so eager the overtake in the first lap.

If you are discouraged from repeating the championship events over and over because it's pointless (pun intended) then it encourages a person to be less reckless and you're less likely to become a victim in the first place. The hypothetical conclusion you've made about the aggressive assailants ranking increase is irrelevant. Yes your second attempt would point restricted even through no fault of your own same for the maniac driver.
