Hi guys!

so just a quick question : what is the best way to clean correctly my G27 leather, because the leather start to become sticky and I heard that only water can make the situation worse.

so if you guys know some tricks I will be glad to hear that.

thanks.

Water, soap and a soft cloth should do the trick.

Just don't get the leather too wet 👍

thanks for your response.

I heard on some forums that's the water can make the leather becoming dry and start to disintegrate over time, maybe some sorte of cream or oil for skin can make the trick ?

My G25's leather is starting to flake off bit by bit if I grip it too hard. I always wipe it with a slightly damp cloth every week for the past 3 years or so. I don't think water itself causes any harm. I did however washed it earlier this year with soap to try and get rid of the sweat residue buildup over the years (which didn't work), and I think that's the catalyst for the drying and flaking off :grumpy: I just tried putting moisturiser on it to see if it helps. Fingers crossed..

Never cleaned my G25 in 6 years, apart from just dusting it. Still looks & smells as good as new.

EDIT: I always wash my hands before I use it by the way, that probably helps.

I always wash my hands as well, but having sweaty hands doesn't help lol. I tried using gloves in my early days, but I find it reduces touch sensitivity too much.

Intersetingly I've used 2 G25's, my one has no problems. But the other one I tried got a bit sticky after some use. Obviously that's down to the wheel & not my hands as my other wheel is fine. Maybe there are subtle differences in the leather & glues used for different G25's that might affect things in these ways.

Just use Leather Cleaners and treat it with leather cream.

The automotive stuff is what I use. The Turtle Wax stuff works great, cleaned my G27 with it
