So I've completely disassembled my Dellorto carb and I want to thoroughly clean the body and it's passageways. Ideally I would use an ultrasonic cleaner or a dishwasher, but since the ultra's are very expensive, and I'm hesitant to put gasoline in my dishwasher, I've decided to do some sort of soak/bath.

So here are some ideas for a cleaning solution I've gathered from scouring the internet:

Vinegar
Simple Green
Commercial Carb Cleaning Solution
Draino
Diesel
Gasoline

I'm leaning towards vinegar at the moment, although It's a longer cleaning process from what I've heard. Should be a little more healthy for me to use vinegar as well.

Thoughts?

Vinegar should work, but most of the time I've done them I've always used carb cleaning solution and never had an issue. You should be fine with either. Vinegar takes a bit longer but not by much.

I decided to go with Pine Sol after reading a lot of well documented experiences. I'll post before and after shots when it's done.

Hmmm I've never heard of that one before. Interesting, I'll have to do some reading on that. It sounds like it would work though.

Definitely let me know how it goes 👍
