Hi,
Clear this up for me once and for all! When will EA, the *ankers, licence for all the best cars run out? I think they are really selfish. OK, I bet that EA uses some of the cars in Gran Turismo 3. It's not fair. Gran turismo should buy the licences for every other car manufacturer and see how EA like it! These are supposed to be video games i.e. FUN! Where's the fun in not letting the best games have the best cars?:banghead: Ferrari vs. Porsche in an online battle - doesn't it make you drool? But wait, we can't do that because EA won't let us! Ok, I've rambled on long enough but I'm just so frustrated!
Thanks
Paddy.

first of all..

and...

now that's out of the way.

Are you 10?

EA purchased the rights so other company cant make games with those cars, thus they will have less competition and ppl will buy their games since there are no other games with those cars.

Games are fun for ppl who play them, but its still a business.

now we are resume..

I'd like to agree with you, but you use that damn smiley too damn much.

Paddy -
It would be nice to have the cars you mention, but I don't really see a problem. The GT series might not have Porche or Ferrari, but they are still better games than any of the EA games.
Chill out, and enjoy the game as it is.. :)

But why there are cars in NFS that are in GT too??

Some manufacturers have signed exclusive agreements, and some haven't. Ford clearly haven't, as an example

silverpuyo - other than to pour crap on someone purely for your own enjoyment, why would you post that?

Thanks for insulting me Silverpuyo.
Sorry I asked
Paddy.

p.s. thanks to everyone else.

I know. If it was not for EA we would have thses wonderful cars! But, oh well :(

EA's licence with Porsche and Ferrari run out in 2005.

Still we will get RUF in GT4 and there heavely tuned Porsche models, so its not to bad, but the new Carrera GT would be nice.

Since Scuderia Ferrari wants to be in the game, it would be hilarious if Luca di Montezemolo (Ferrari president) approved them being included as Fiats!!! :) How great would that be....... I wouldnt stop laughing laughing for a year. I wonder if the EA license precludes Konig Ferraris frome being included... (Konig produces turbocharged Ferraris including a Twin Turbo F50 and TT 360 Modena). I say Montezemolo should just give PD licensing anyway, and let EA sue. The Italian courts would throw it out anyway; Italy is quite proud of their car industry and Ferrari especially.

I guess theuy'd have a case since their cars are so poorly redered by EA in comparison to what PD would be able to do!
They have the right to have their cars in the best game, now dont they?

If EA's license agreement ends in 2005 with Ferrari, that means we should have Ferrari in GT5 on the PS3. It would be to bad if we can't get it this time around, but I can wait for them.

The end of 2005 is when the the PS3 is speculated to arive. PD is already at work with GT5 for the PS3, according to rumors at E3 earlier this year. One can only hope.

I HATE EA (and every videogame thay make) !!! :banghead:

Personally, these cars (ferarri and porsche) are nice, but the main thing i like about GT games are the fact that you can buy and drive cars that we as mere mortals can afford.

I am currently in the process of puschasing an S13 Silvia and LOVE the fact that it is and will be in all the GT games.

Okay will someone explain to me why they are having so much trouble getting the licence from ferrari from ea but in gt3 they have the vanquish, mustang svt, corvette, speedster, elise etc that ea also had the licencses to.

I would guess its because EA have exclusive rights to Ferrari (So games like GT can't steal customers away from the NFS series), which undoubtbly would cost more money than a 'standard' license to simply put a car in the game e.g. a Corvette. Which can appear in any game if the developer pays for rights.

Also since the NFS series is older than GT, Ferrari will already have had experience with EA & the NFS developers.

I know you said to name just one game, but:

Madden Series (10+ games)
NHL Series (About 10 games)
NBA Live Series (5-10 games)
Medal of Honor (3[?] games)
SSX Series (3 games)
NBA Street Series (2 games)
Tiger Woods Series (4[?] games)
Battlefield 1942
Need For Speed Series (6 games)
Sims Series (The Sims, Sim City, Sim whatever) (Heh, I have no idea how many games)

I'd say they have produced a fair share of good games. I declare you an idiot.

FIIIIFFFFAAAA 2003 and 2004 :D

Hey emad!

Did you ever try Pro Evolution Soccer (KONAMI)
try-it than Fifa will seem you like a joke, an insult for soccer!

I have bought only one EA game out of that list, Madden 2001, and the disc had so many errors in it I sent it back to EA, and they never sent me a new one. Now I boycott all EA games for that reason. I ain't missing much. I don't really care for those game titles anyway.

The only way to get EA to release the exclusive rights to Ferrari ahead of schedule is if everybody would boycott their games until they relented. This is never going to happen though, but it was just an idea.

Yeah I think We can do something.

for exsample I have a modchip on my PS2 and I can bye all the games I want at 5-10€ insteed of 60-70€
the only games that I by "original" (not copyed) are:
-GT
-P.E.S. (a KONAMI soccer game)

other games of EA and others that I take (for my little brother) are all copy.
