So, is the Clio V6 the new 'Elise' that's out-performing it's performance points online?

Every time I've been on since the update, it's almost the only car being used....

Based on today's races, it seems to be particularly good in the hairpins (as long as there's another car to bounce off on the outside)

I haven't seen that much of it in the NTSC region, and the Lotus Elise is used surprisingly unoften

Over here the Tuned Corvette is used exlusively for Daytona Oval, and as for the Road courses the dominating cars are Nissan GTR or Evolution X tuned

Clio V6 tuned was my choice, at first I will do OK with that car in 700PP races.. then I ened up in top 3 most of the time if no one bumps me off the road. Yeah it's a great car.

I don't like it. Every time I see one, it seems to be running into me.

I've been using the Clio since the Japanese release especially when I figured out how to tune it, and found out early it's very competitive. It's the one car I use that I can keep up with the Elise drivers

I ran a Clio (670PP) all day yesterday at Suzuka Pro, and got sick of it. I could stay out front if I didn't make any mistakes, but it's hard to drive without any aids, much like the Elise. I see far more EvoX Tuned cars than I do Clios.

I'm honestly a little tired of the whining about this car or that car being superior. The Elise is a handful without aids and the necessary power bump, so is the Clio. Maybe what you guys are complaining about are people running with all the aids on? Have you folks driven either one of these unaided?

Is there some unwritten rule I don't know about regarding car choices? I had to stop with the Elise, even at 667PP, because it was regarded as "superior", even after the update. Since it was the only thing I had prepped to run at Suzuka, I had to find another car, and I went with the mid-rear Clio to speed the learning curve so I could get back out online where the fun is. I kept it well below the 700PP line, just in case this car had some kind of advantage, percieved or not.

Now I come here, and find I'm driving the NOOB car again. I tried tuning up the Cappuchino, but even maxxed out it lacks the power to stay ahead of the meatheads.

Maybe you guys can tell me what is OK for me to drive without offending anyone?

I only really see the tuned clio in 600pp races where you'll probably see as many as 10 in a 16 car race. In the 700pp races, especially on suzuka, i've barely seen any:tup:

The funny thing is I run my tuned clio at 665 in the 700pp races and have consistently finished top 3 beating out fully tuned cars. Just like any MR car it's a hard to drive without aids. I don't care what people think when I drive the Clio, I spent a lot of hours tuning it and I won't stop using it because someone thinks it's a noob car..lol

For me, its not so much the car, but the intent of the driver behind the wheel that matters.

If your suggesting that the type of driver that drives a Clio is similar to those who used to drive the Elise, then I'd have to agree.

If on the other hand, you are suggesting that they are all conquering, then I'd have to disagree. I can't speak for the 600pp races, but on the 700pp races I've seen, they are no more ubiquitous than the Elise was pre update.

As for the car being a race winner, it is up there, but so are a lot of cars. I have had some good races with some very good Clio racers (especially the French ones), but with a good tuned car of your own, you can leave this car for dust! I have no problems with it when I race the Suzuka 700pp in my tuned Corvette. 👍

I use it, only for 600PP, but just because people driving it tend to crash into you doesn't mean everone who uses it is a n00b, I'm a clean driver. I used to use the subaru impreza but I always got caught up in the end by people with the Ckio, who prceeded to ruin my race, even though they could have one without it, so I decided to fight fire with fire, and now they don't get close enough to push me. :P

Hi would have to go with you. Both cars are very hard to drive with no adis on.

I have been useing the s2000 gt1 turbo. I think it is a great car I have spent a lot of time tuning it and I am just starting to hit the sweet spot with it. Round fuji I can beat the gt-r around a lot now were with a lot of the cars on this game you cant.

I will soon start using something new and seeing how I get on.

As a Clio driver I agree with you, I have a tough time out driving another car tuned similar with a good driver 👍

Still the lotus always crash into me under breaking, had one race with another Clio (im in a F430) had a great race... Clio does not seem to be to quick :)

The Clio is an awesome car, stop whining!!!!! Elise this, Clio that. Who cares. I've beaten clio's in other cars and I've had a clio driver stop and wait on the track after bumping me off, even though it was the last lap and I was in 1st he was 2nd.
(clio driver was "Host Killer")

I had a whole bunch of races against Clios on the 600pp HSR reverse races (yes I know STD physics, but still...)

I was using a neutered and bloated F430 to get it to 600PP, but found it to be perfectly capable of hanging with the Clios, especially when it comes to sneaking past them on the last lap :)

It was fairly common in those races though, about 60-70% of cars were Clios.

Wow.👍

I wasn't complaining about it, just wondered if it was unusually quick compared to the rest. It's just a shame when you start a race and every other car is the V6, not enough variety.

I know it's a good car, I've got one myself in the game. It's just it seems like that's the only thing raced online.

Of the past 8-10 races I've had, I'd estimate that the field was 80-90% V6 Clio's.

Well I haven't encountered as much Clios as you say, and most dont give me problems, the thing is that when I see one behind me I'm always afraid during braking because I've seen a lot of bumpers with that car.

The majority of the grid in the PP600 races are the tuned Clios, but it does seem that only a small minority are capable of driving them well, and the rest are the same incompetent people that chose the Elise because it was winning and then found out it was harder to drive than they expected.

However, nothing is impossible to beat. I was beating them 50% of the time in the Honda Integra in PP600, so I moved onto the Ferrari 512 and beat them the same amount at Suzuka, and virtually 100% of the time at Daytona Road. One racer I've competed against often, blasos, uses a BMW M3 and he's beaten the Clios almost every time I've seen him race.

I haven't found it overly quick, I had a few races end of last week on Daytona infield and I beat a few of them in the Golf GTI fully maxed out and also in the Jag. The Golf was pretty slow on the straights but superb around the corners. The jag just handles like a boat, bloody awful!

I think with all the cars its all down to the driver. Sure If I had used the Clio I would of beaten them easily.

The Clio is a very quick car... found it to be very close to the fastest (that I`ve seen) Evo X & GTR driving in Suzuka 700PP. Some Elises go a bit faster, but I love the challenge the Clio gives without any aids.. (though ABS still on 1 :guilty: ) And doesn`t even seem to be so popular either there... don`t know about 600PP, never been there :sly:.

Kosketi, you rock. You smoked me in my Clio on Saturday, nice driving. I think I may have taken you out of a race once, for that I'm very sorry. It was my first time out with the Clio, and I did not give it enough practice to be completely in control.

Thanks... I remember you there. And no harm done, I clearly saw that it was an accident.. I made a few of them too. Especially on Saturday when I had a couple of ...

:)

And nice to see more of GTP_clios out there... enough of that 4WD easyness.. :sly:

PD has always given us some cars, in each game version, that out shown all others. Their Pesclaro in GT4, for example. They may or may not do this on purpose, but who cares? Use what ya brung and do your best.

Someone mentioned the M3 above. I just bought one and I think it can be tuned to consistently beat the Clio. It just needs to be put to the test.

Cheers,

MasterGT

The Clio is indeed nippy, but the GTR and EvoX tuned can take care of it no problem. As has been mentioned, it
seems to be gaining the bad rep that the Elise one had

[minirant]Arrrgh, just plain punted out of the esses at Suzuka more than once today [/minirant]

Yep, for 600pp races the Clio has to be the best. In professional mode its too much of a handful though. With the tuning you can really hit a sweet spot by mixing the front and rear tyre types. Not saying which ones though ;)

Really it is for the 600 pp races.

There were some right jokers racing the Clio in the PP600 Suzuka (EU) races this evening, very few of them had any issue with taking other drivers off the circuit.
