Im gonna do the ****** Clio series, and I dont know which to do it with, money doesnt influence my decision one bit. I figure the race car is better, but since I hate Renault (except for the Espace) and French Cars in general, I havent the slightest idea as to what to do. Can someone please tell me which one to get and why should I do that?

It's been so long since I did it, but chances are, you're probably going to want to use the Race Car... the Clio series is most likely like the Elise series, in which there are a mix of race and production cars.

The best thing you can do is take a look at Der Alta's Compendium webpage, and base your decisions off of that. :)

Actually, it's not like the Elise Trophy. All the cars in the series are street cars. Using the Clio racecar would be nearly as bad as using an F1 on them.

Check the writeups board - I just finished this series in a pretty-much-stock Clio Sport, with no problem. There's a writeup of the whole series there.

I actually like both the Clio and the Clio racecar. I'm thinking about the Clio for the TM Enduro.

I don't care for the Clio's that much either. I think you should start off with the Clio Race Car, and then if you like it, try it with the regular Clio for more of a challenge.:D

I heard a report on Speen Channel that the Clio is coming to America because of the GT3 influence it had on American youth. Maybe Porche, Ferarri and Lamborghini should listen.:)

Why? We already have Porsches, Ferraris, and Lamborghinis here... :odd: ;)

they're not selling clio's here, ever. in fact, they aren't ever selling them in europe again. i love the car, and did some reseach on them. only 1600 were ever built, and only to homologate them for the clio race cup in france. the only clio in north america is owned by Werner Funk, the owner of Nology products. as a side note, not any tom, dick, or harry could buy clio's. demand was so high for the limited run car that renault held a lottery, and the 1600 people that won got buying rights. of those 1600, about 200 of them were strictly race use as of the end of 2002. theres a little history on a car that, unfortunately, is also history. hope i cleared up some rumours a misconceptions for you guys!

Yeah, if you want to win easily, use a clio race car...if you want some competition, use a slightly modified Clio...;)

When i went to Portugal with my family we rented a Renault Clio, its an awesome car. I loved it, but too bad we had to bring it back when we left.

Did you rent the V6 or the 4 cylinder version?

Well... the Clio V6 only appeared in 2001 and, a dead giveaway, if there were three or more people in the car, it's NOT a V6.

As the Renault salesman said to my girlfriend - "The V6 has the engine where the rear seats should be". Or, as I corrected him -"The other Clios have some seats where the engine should be."

Something I've wondered about a lot - although I'm told the mechanical difficulties of making/fitting a V4 in the cars that would benefit the most (small hatches) by far outweigh any bonuses you may get.

I believe Ford made a V4 in the 50's. Anyone?

I just did the race and I bought the Race car and put on the one or two modifications that it would allow and I won all of the races without even trying often a lap ahead. I suppose you could easily win withe the Clio V6 as well.

There are V4s in motorbikes...that's all I know about V4s...;)

So there's only two seats in the V6? :yuck: Not worth it...

Well, think of it this way - it's a very light, mid-engined 187kw 3 litre V6 sportscar that'll get you to 100kmh in less than 6 seconds.

You can cream the AI Clio Sports in a street Clio with just a racing intake/exhaust kit. A better driver than I could do it in a stock street car.
