Metalsun's vision of the theme:

Love them or hate them, the Traffic Police are a hassle. To be fair, they are there for our protection. So let us honor them with our very own edits. You have probably seen the police cars from Italy or Dubai.

Cars: Any EXOTIC road car
Location: Any location
PhotoTravel: No

UNIQUE RESTRICTIONS: Y-O-U-R local police car markings on an exotic road car.

Please, ensure you read and understand all requirements for this competition. Failure to follow
the rules may result in disqualification. If you have questions, send me a Private Message.

This Thread will answer many possible questions you may have.

• It is recommended you host your image on ImageShack, Photobucket, or Flickr.
• Not sure how to post a thumbnail or preview image? Read this sticky!
• Please use a clickable-preview to full-size, not a separate text link for it;
it makes poll creation much easier!

• One entry per user.
It must be your own work, and never previously used in a comp.
• Do not ask other users to choose your entry.
• Mark your FINAL ENTRY clearly, with red text.
• You may change your entry once. Do it clearly; edit out your previous entry, and
either post the new one in a new reply, or in place of the original.
• When submitting, use either a thumbnail or a preview image, linked to the full-sizer.
• Preview images can not exceed 500 pixels in either direction.
• A preview image must be representative of the full-size image. Do not add effects to it.
• Do not post "Honourable Mentions" or outtakes - just your Final Entry, that's all.
• Winner gets to choose the following week's theme, as well as the Top 15.
• Winners cannot enter in their own theme!
• The Host may ask for the original image and it must be submitted if so.
• It's recommended to save the original image (preferably in-game) until week's ends.

• Crop and/or resize an image.
• Adjust the level or curve values.
• Alter the colour tone of the image (gradient maps, photo filters, colour balance, etc).
• Car body colour change (all stickers/design features must remain, see "Remove Items" rule).
• Adjust brightness, contrast, exposure, shadow/highlights.
• Enhance shadows or highlights (dodge and burn tools in Photoshop, for example).
• Add noise and/or diffuse glow.
• Add a post-game tilt-shift blur, or apply a motion blur to a stationary Photomode shot.
• Make use of Layer Blend Modes.
• Use a Sharpening filter and/or tool.
• Scale or enlarge rims.
• Remove or modify license plates.
• Remove the GT watermark.
• Add a personal signature.
• Clean up or fix jaggies, texture pixelation, or colour separation.
• Add a vignette effect.

• Artistic filters are allowed; that means green light for lens flares, ghost effects, etc.
• Weather edits are allowed but do refrain from using it on every single entry you put out.
• Multiple photos are allowed, HDR and photo-stitch away!
• Selective colouring and masking of the car or background is allowed.
• Light leaks, dirt particles, fractal effects, typography, and any along the lines of the mentioned are allowed.

• Small images outside of GT5 is allowed. This includes logos, car body parts (e.g. rims, decals), textures (e.g. retro filter grain), small objects (e.g. trees, grass, bricks).
• Large images are, however, disallowed. This includes background swapping, placing a whole car into the photo, changing the environment entirely and etc.

(e.g. trees, grass).
• On the issue of placing cars into photos, if the car is taken from a GT5 photo, and placed into another GT5 photo, it's fine. This makes for multi-car phototravel shots.

• IMPORTANT: Winners, to allow for a more open competition (not too restrictive), please limit the description of your theme at your own will. (Try to avoid themes like "Mazdas at Nurburgring", or "Only at Trial Mountain")

Please refrain from distancing away from the theme with your edits, saying if there is not really a need for a weather edit, it is recommended that you don't add it in.

Failure to follow these rules will result in ignored entries and/or disqualification!

To be fair, they are there for our protection.

Yyyyyeeah... Well, that's been my portion of hating our government agencies for today.:(

On a less negative note, are we restricted to traffic police only?

No, it does not have to be only traffic police, standard police patrol cars are fine. The exercise here is for us to see your LOCAL police livery on exotic cars, flashing lights and all. Let us know, if you like, its jurisdiction. For example: "This is my (national, state, federal, royal, municipal, township, etc.) police".

Final Entry

R8 - GNR (Guarda Nacional Republicana)

Since I am judging this comp, this is NOT an entry.
Why should you guys have all the fun?

Policía de Puerto Rico, Div. de Tránsito, Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4, '11 by Metalsun1, on Flickr

This is the Lamborghini Aventador, as it would appear as an interceptor for the Traffic Division of the Puerto Rico State Police Department. This Police Department uses 3 different liveries, the other two are for the standard patrol vehicles. If I have time, I'll do another. Good luck!

Question: Does a 'Vette Stingray count as exotic?

Exotics are cars that are extremely expensive and in limited numbers relative mainstream cars. Some expensive, mainstream cars are modified by the factory with additional features in limited numbers which could put them in a gray area of an exotic. The vette is a good subject but not what I would call an exotic.

Final Entry

I hope I understand the theme of the contest ...PS Since I'm not a city, and in our village patrol only domestic UAZ and VAZ, I decided to dream a little :) Here's what came of it:rolleyes:

Great effort MrEverest, but like the Corvette mentioned by lilmann73 above, this C 63 AMG is not quite an EXOTIC. You still have lots of time, I would really like to see you try it again. GT5 has lots of exotics. I had left some links in my "vision" above with some examples to get you inspired.

FINAL ENTRY

Audi R8 | Russian Road Patrol Service | ДПС

Not Really an Entry
I guess I had way too much time in my hands this week.

Policia de Puerto Rico Patrulla by Metalsun1, on Flickr

Here is a Ferrari 599 as a standard patrol vehicle for the Policía de Puerto Rico. Like I had mentioned above, there are two liveries for these patrol cars. I like this one better.

I think that Taiga said something like, "The one who posts the most cars, wins...NOT" So, that's two for me, I win, you can go home now guys.

You want to see the REAL patrol cars? Come and visit my GT Planet gallery.

Entry changed to fit the rules. :)

I just noticed that the rules say no Phototravel so looks like I'll be changing mine if I can find the time. :ouch: :dunce:

You are right Nathan, but to be honest, that restriction feels like less comprehensible…

Rules are rules. Given that they are police cars, that they have lights and usually they are on when in pursuit or in an emergency, I asked myself, "Why have that edit opportunity go to waste?" Thus, the Photomode restriction and lights on. Let's see some action! Anyway Nato_777, with a little more editing, you will not loose what you have done so far, challenge yourself, try it out.

I have no problem with doing another entry - it's my fault for not reading the fine print, something I'm usually careful to take note of. I can easily take another shot of the SP1 at the same angle in photomode and carry all my livery over to it.
Question: can we have another car (being chased by the police) in the shot?

Out of curiosity Ziggler, from what police force and where, does your edit represent? It's that you have no "country of origin" under your avatar.

Apologies, I meant to include it my post. I'm from Ireland, GARDA is Irish for police, even though Irish isn't our main language.

Didn’t think I’d see another Garda car here 👍
Here’s mine but it’s not for the competition.
O and Garda does not mean police in English it means Guardian.
And the Garda force are called An Garda Síochána meaning the Guardian of the Peace
