Further explanation of the theme, as described by bmxmitch:

"For this week, I want you to beat my lap-record with this car.
It's one of my favorite cars to drive and also, the best looking GT-R yet (IMO)! Same goes for
the track. It's just pure fun to drive with a car like this.."
I also put two of my GT-R on share. The black one is the one I used for this "personal" lap
record. Feel free to use them. :)

TIME TO BEAT: 1:59,462 (Racing soft tires)
CAR: Nissan Skyline GT-R SPEC II NÜR (R34) '02
LOCATION: Suzuka Circuit (Weather change is allowed)

I'll send you a FR soon, Mitch! :trouble:

But Mitch, I can't even fix the jaggies if I decide to go with the weather change! :grumpy:
Never mind, I guess I got a halfway decent shot off. :p

FINAL ENTRY

CLICK > 1:58.849 < PROOF

Just to clarify, if we decide to use bmxmitch's GT-R for the time trial, do we also have to use it for the picture?

Why not? I think it's a great way to add a little 'freshness' to the comps. I enjoyed slamming that Comaro around Laguna Seca, which I probably wouldn't have done if I was just shooting.

Guys, just use what you want to for this week!
Racing tires or my car isn't a must. I just added this as a little extra motivation.:D

And I'll accept friend-requests tomorrow or wednesday, as I don't have time today.

The one with the fastest laptime gets my GT-R! ;)

But remember, the laptime has to be done with the GT-R.
And play fair. I may ask for a proof after this week is closed. ;)

This will be cool to try someone else's car, i don't believe i have ever used a shared car :)
Mitch, I will send through a FR at some stage later in the week when i can get a chance to have a jam on the PS3.

First I've done practice on this track and PD did a shoddy job on this one, as far as what constitutes a failed lap.

You can go all the way to the wall anywhere there is gravel/sand, but in the esses, there's a spot where the rumble strip fails you. Don't recall which strip, though.

This car Understeers so bad.
I agree, i don't like this car.

Also, why can't PD render circles? every arch, circle and/or elipse is a series of straight lines. They look like crap when you try to get a good detailed shot. It's annoying!

Yeah the wheel arches on this car refuse to be round.

it is when bone stock, try putting in an adjustable diff and play with the acceleration torque part so that the front has a bigger value than at the back

That makes no sense. That would make it understeer more.

Final Entry

And my time was terrible in this car so I ain't posting it! :grumpy:

Mind you, circles are never round; they're always made up of line segments.
I understand what you guys mean though and yes, I agree, PD could have done better on this car. Especially because it's such an iconic car!
Okay, that's my smartassedness for today. :sly:

FINAL ENTRY

and I managed a 1:58.527 after 6 laps and the photo was from that lap
Put my rear downforce at the least amount, and gave it a 20/80 rear bias to counter that crazy understeer. Fun car!

FINAL ENTRY

My time was 1:58.256 :). I was too lazy too upload the proof photo although I do have one and will upload it if necessary.

one question, mitch: with the GT Academy edition of this same car being distributed today, would entrants be allowed to use the GT Academy edition to enter?
