Further explanation of the theme, as described by ceiling_fan:

"Go for a quiet stroll in your 2CV along the scenic Nurburgring. If you do not have this car,
I believe it is in the current OCD. I also have one on share. It is non-paintable."

CAR: Citroën 2CV Type A '54
LOCATION: Nurburgring (any variation)

Please, ensure you read and understand all requirements for this competition. Failure to follow
the rules may result in disqualification. If you have any questions, please, send me a Private Message.
This Thread has everything you need to know.
  • There must be at least some detail of the background (location) visible in the picture that
can later be identified to be part of the location specified in the theme. If the location is
not immediately clear from the picture you must provide the exact location if it's queried.
  • Only one entry per user allowed. It must be that user's own work and never used in another
    competition.
  • Do not ask other members to choose your entry.
  • Entry post must be marked with a FINAL ENTRY text.
  • Entries may only be changed once and it must be indicated clearly.
  • Entries must be posted in either thumbnail or a preview. We recommend you to link either
    to it's full size.
  • Posts containing bigger previews than allowed, full sizes or links only will be ignored.
  • Previews should not exceed the limit of 500px in either direction and have any effect not present
    in the original image.
  • It's recommended the usage of a free image hosting service, such as ImageShack, Photobucket
    or Flickr.
  • If you want your entry to have a link to your full sized image in the poll, make your preview
a link to the full sized photo.
  • Only the Judge's favorite 15 entries will get through to the poll.
  • Keep in mind that the Host of this competition may ask for the original image and it must
    be submitted if so.

It's recommended to store the original image (from the USB stick) until competition week ends.

What you may not to do a photo:
  • Alter the geometry of the car. No stickers, or body modifications not available in game.
  • Add shapes or objects from outside of GT5, signatures excepted.
  • Remove items from shot (scenery, other cars).
  • Use more than 1 image (HDR, photo-stitching, multi-exposure).
  • Add effects that make the picture look something other than a photograph.
  • "Creative cropping". The main "image" must be four-sided, with 90-degree, upright corners.
  • Selective car colour changing: masking different parts to create racing stripes or similar.
What you may do to a photo:
  • Crop and/or resize an image.
  • Adjust the level or curve values.
  • Alter the colour tone of the image (gradient maps, photo filters, colour balance, etc).
  • Car body colour change (all stickers/design features must remain).
  • Adjust brightness, contrast, exposure, shadow/highlights.
  • Enhance shadows or highlights (dodge and burn tools in Photoshop, for example).
  • Add noise and/or diffuse glow.
  • Add a post-game tilt-shift blur, or apply a motion blur to a stationary Photo Travel shot.
  • Make use of Layer Blend Modes.
  • Use a Sharpening filter and/or tool.
  • Scale or enlarge rims.
  • Remove or modify license plates.
  • Remove the GT watermark.
  • Add a personal signature.
  • Clean up or fix jaggies, texture pixelation, or colour separation.
  • Add a vignette effect.

I see a lot of entries on the first part of the course in our future... :D

Yep saturation on full and played a little with the toning, that's all made in Lightroom no Photo Shop or else ;) No color changing!

I didn't know changing car colour was still in the 2.0 rules! :ouch:

Actually the rules in a 2.0 Edit week in both CCCL and SSC are the same as those in the regular 2.0 Comp in which...

What you may do to a photo:
  • Car body colour change (all stickers/design features must remain).
But keep in mind

What you may not to do a photo:
  • Selective car colour changing: masking different parts to create racing stripes or similar.

Yeah, remember seeing that you're allowed to change the color of the car, but I didn't see it up there in the rules. So, more detailed 2.0 rules are in the 2.0 Competition?

Maybe PD could hire Nato to sharpen up all the standard models? They certainly look premium to me after his magic touch!

I think that's your best work ever Nato. And really amazing

Sweet baby jebus Nato! I mean honestly!!

Wow Nato!
2CV as premium car: that fact escaped me.
Excellent work!👍

Nice 2CV Nato!

Woah, thanks guys :O I must say I'm pretty pleased with how that one scrubbed up, it's not perfect and I haven't really finished it yet but after 6 hrs of editing I figured it was close enough and a vast improvement over the original. I might tweak have tweaked and updated it yet now. :)

Well Nato, amazing job indeed. And interesting to view your basic shot.
Please allow me some critics:
for a classic "low-budget vehicle" those rims are no-no-go! :)

Ha ha, I know. Though that one was far from a low budget vehicle anymore - fully tuned and capable of 110 MPH + (downhill with a tail wind). Lap time of Nordschleife was 10:06.
I dare say 110 MPH in a 2CV in real life would be frightening!

Lapped it in 4d 19h 31:03.274. :)

Nah 9:56.771 and I'd try for better, but it was boring enough to do once.

My stock 2CV time was 17:14.370. Let's just go with 17 minutes to keep it simple.
There are 1440 minutes in 24 hours. So 1440 divided by 17 is less than 85 laps!
For comparison, the Audi that won at this year's 24 Hour of Nurburgring completed 155 laps.
That translates into 54% less laps than the Audi which would roughly mean that the 2CV is traveling about half the speed of the Audi.
It sure didn't feel like half the speed, it felt like 1/8th the speed.

Okay, take a breath. :p
