Further explanation of the theme, provided by GPR:

"This week I'd like to see shots taken from up high, pretty much anything above the level of the roof of the car is acceptable. Now I know there's not a lot of height to be had with the limitation of the free cam mode but don't be afraid to to go for something different like any of the high positioned fixed cams. That's pretty much it, have fun guys!"

CARS: Any
LOCATIONS: Any
PHOTOTRAVEL: Yes
UNIQUE RESTRICTIONS: Shot must be taken above the car's roof line.

Can I get feedback even though I wasn't able to enter this weeks

Sure can. Well the composition is not too bad but the angle feels uncomfortable to me beacuse it makes the horizon tilted which in this case doesn't work.

The toning/editing is a bit too mono-tonal which takes out some of the depth of the photo so overall it lacks a certain dynamic punch. But the warm feel is quite nice though.

Final point would be in this instance the over-exposure doesn't work for me as the light really dominates and the car doesn't feel prominent enough.

Sorry to say it likely wouldn't have made the poll list considering the many great entries I had to choose from.

Hope that doesn't feel too much of a harsh let down and that you find it constructive to bettering yourself. 👍

Although this wasn't my original entry I would like feedback. I was going to change it, but I also notice ziggy had a similar entry to this one.
I was going to use this one. Is it better than my HSV-010 photo?

Could I also trouble you for some feedback .. Mine was the window Evo X entry

It wasn't a bad shot by any means it was just little things that tipped the scale, the composition is quite nice but I felt the car should have been just a touch further to the left to really balance the photo because of the heaviness of the shutters featured on the right.

Also the car seems a little over exposed, as white is hard to shoot.

It was a close call but your shot came close to making the poll. Sorry.

The HSV shot mostly lacked appeal because of the minimal editing, i felt like it needed more toning/colour work. Plus it seemed quite stark very white sky and really dark surroundings. Compostion was not bad but I think the car could have been a little further in the frame, it just felt a little uncomfortable where it sits.

I think you made the right choice of shot though out of the two options. The other isn't the best use of the miniature filter and the central composition feel very static.

Hope thats helps.

Too much red toning?

I didn't mind the red toning to be honest but overall the shot didn't grab me, there's not much energy too it, and considering what car it is that made it less appealing.

Thats a hard location to shoot and look good and I htink it could have used stronger editing. The other key factor to me was the over-exposed boats and buildings, the glow from those I found to be a little distracting from the subect.

As for the other shot, yes I do believe it is better in that one the glow and strong light works better and the energy and focus of the shot is where it should be IMO.

Thanks for the feedback. I wasn't confident with the HSV-010 shot because the car seemed a little too far off and the editing.

Last week, I regretted changing my entry. This week, I regretted not changing my entry!

Thanks for the feedback, George!

Can i get some feedback?

If there's another car in the frame, as there is in the background, try to avoid placing it right at the edge of the image. It looks awkward with the roof of the car sitting right on the edge like that. It's also a very busy background with a lot to distract your eye from the car.

Feedback on mine please? Mine was the Caterham on the Autumn Ring.

My guess would be I screwed up the editing, I'm still learning.

I pretty much agree with Moglet and i'd probably add that the exposure feels a touch over cooked and the angle and viewpoint of the car isn't the most flattering for it.

For your shot it seems far to bright and oversaturated too intense for example the grass looks like toxic yellow and far from natural, plus the miniature filter doesn't work that well on it. The other major factor was the central postion of the car which doesn't make for an insipring composition. Would have been better if the general rule of thirds was considered.

Hope that helps.

Congrats, Darryl!
