Further explanation of the theme, provided by fkxpro:

"Let's see you capture the excitement of multiple cars fighting for position. Cars don't
have to be rally specific and tracks are not limited to dirt or snow, but the essence of
rallycross racing should come through."


CARS: Any (multiple) cars
LOCATIONS: Any
PHOTOTRAVEL: No
UNIQUE RESTRICTIONS: Must be multiple vehicles

Polls cannot be created until after thread creation - posting two identical posts in both threads doesn't accomplish much.

Neither does popping into the chat and being rude to members, come to think of it.
 
I love rally car racing a lot, it is second only to LM-GT racing in my favorites, but, I don't care for any of these photos. None of them really make me say "oh, that is awesome, I love that photo". They are okay, but, they are rather bland in my opinion.
Plus, there are hardly any classic rally cars, it is all the new junk that are nothing like the old cars. The old cars were monsters, the new cars, well, they are just street cars with dirt tires and a bit of modification in my opinion.

Great job everyone! Was a tricky theme indeed, my description could have been better, but if there is a next time then I've learned a few things.

Just noticed too that the poll is in the order they were posted from the thread, completely overlooked that.

Now to consider my vote... hmmmm

As a little behind-the-scenes tidbit - it's much preferable when people send the list chronologically like that, since it makes it much more efficient for me to go from top to bottom, collecting the images. So you'll have no complaints from me :D
 
Man, those cars look more rally to me... Maybe after all this was "rallycross"...

Amazing poll though and some that really do stand out :drool: ...... means I'l have to take a little more time out to decide how to vote.

One pic is lacking a full size, wasn't that against the rules, no?
 
BMXmitch's photo was beautiful, but I was looking for a bit more excitement in motion. I think the tight crop just brought the focus on the car as the subject in the end. That was a tough call for sure.

I think you made a good poll with a nice balance of different shots. And I really dont get some of the negative comments regarding the Entries who made it to the poll. We had Le Mans cars, Suercars and everything else in the thread, were those rallycross pics in any kind?

But thats everytime I miss the poll. ;)

Initially it was the focus selection, but something else didnt quite line up for me. I think the crop affected the angles and create a floating effect on the foreground subie. Thats probably my unique interpretation, but something about the juxtaposition between the two cars. Compared to the other foreground subie, the driver just sort of anchors things for me, in that example it's a bit easier to read.

then again it's 4 am:crazy:

Thanks:) I think it worked out pretty good, considering it was a bit of a different theme. Got a couple shots in there sans rally cars, though i thought there might have been more.

Also glad to get an entry submitted during the extended time(after the date confusion) into the poll from Nato_777

👍 Thats good enough for me. Respect for sticking to what you were looking for and not everyone elses choices.

Have found these comps have a 50/50 type ratio to them, ie: 50% goes to trying to get a great pic (....the hardest part for me lol) and the other 50% towards trying to grab the right shot for the 'Judge's' taste, preference and opinion :sly: Plus my potential vote was headed for Primus's entry which didn't make it either so I don't feel so bad now ironically :)

I understand how hard it can be being the judge - so sorry for making even more work for you. Could you give me some feedback on my photo so I can know what to do (and what not to) next time :)
