jus1029, slzk and TVR&Ferrari_Fan, those shots are great and on any other week would've definitely made it to the poll. As it happens, the sheer number of quality work showcased this week means there have been several pictures that unfortunately didn't make the cut on the basis of tiny little details.
jus1029, the cropping of the picture was a bit too tight around the car. If you had moved the camera slightly further away from the car or zoomed out just a touch, the picture would've been fantastic.
slzk, you had the opposite problem jus1029 had. I would've probably liked your shot better if you'd zoomed in and/or panned the camera a bit further down. Right now, there's just too much dull grass around the upper half of the picture. It also has less contrast than I would've liked.
TVR&Ferrari_Fan, there's almost nothing about the picture that I could criticise, and you -- along with a few others -- just missed out on a spot in the poll. But, when push came to shove, there was just too much vignetting around the picture, and -- I'm really sorry that it had to come down to personal preferences -- I would've preferred a slightly cooler tint to the picture, as you can see from the pictures I had chosen to be featured in the poll.
FordMKIVJ5, your picture displayed too much colour banding around the sky and the glow from the headlights. Also, there was not enough contrast and the warm filter took too much of the Mark IV's gorgeous red away, producing a rather dull picture with not much emphasis on the subject (the car).
rikin_gt_india, the picture is tinted way too blue. Also, tilting the camera slightly would've given the picture a higher sense of speed.
cphbullet, you could've zoomed in further and omit some of the sky out -- I did say a clear view of the sky might help, but it wasn't required, and if it hindered you rather than helped, you should've probably left it out. However, the biggest problem with the picture by far is that it's way too dark, made worse by the fact that the cool filter hideously underexposes pictures.
You rely too much on the in-game filters. I'm really sorry that I have to tell you this, but to have a good shot of your picture entering the polls, let alone winning the competition outright, you have to edit your pictures manually rather than letting the filters do all the work for you. Some of the people entering the 2.0 are masters in photo editing, and it would take a lot to outdo them with a picture straight out of the game.
f1_stig, the picture is too close to the bottom edge of the picture, you should've panned the camera further downward. Like rikin_gt_india, you could've tilted the camera slightly to enhance the sense of speed. Also, Panning Mode 3 would've been a better fit for this picture.
CCShaft7, I'm really sorry, but you were right, your picture didn't really fit the theme. I was specifically looking for a picture of a car and/or a track in gloomy weather, not just some sky with lots of clouds. You would've probably done better if you went to a track with variable weather and set the weather to 50% instead of spending ages trying to make a sunny picture look cloudy (that's Laguna Seca in your picture, wasn't it?) -- the car reflects light a lot differently on a cloudy day than it does in bright sunlight. I would've also preferred to see some colour in the picture; I'm not a big fan of black and white unless it's done really well.
In the end, I voted for Benmastaw00t's glorious picture of the 458's V8. This is what happens when someone bends the rules and produces some stunning work. It may not be what I was looking for when I dreamed up the theme, but such good work deserves some recognition.
Again, I'm really sorry that some great pictures didn't make the cut, there are many others that aren't mentioned here.
My vote went to Aleman, I just can´t resist the 330 P4 in an old-school type of picture like this
