For what it's worth, here is my feedback for the entries that didn't make it. Thanks for taking the time to enter in my theme, it was a tough hour of deciding the poll.

This is very fitting for the theme, however the editing wasn't as clean as the other ones. The area of the car that my eyes are drawn to isn't in focus.

This shot is clean and simple, so it is very good from a technical standpoint to me, however the ones in the poll had an emotional element about rallying (skidding, crowds, etc) that I couldn't see in this shot.

This shot is nice except for the lighting which could be brighter, as you said. With only 15 slots to choose from, I had to leave this one out because of that.
GT HP Nut :
This shot with a hybrid in a rally setting is perfect for the theme, however it was lacking in the editing department compared to the shots that are in the poll. I think you should try messing around with curves and other basic things to change the look and feel of the picture.

Great shot that captures the mood around rally racing, especially with the camera flash, however the car was too far away and I would have liked to see it closer kicking up the sand like in your original entry.

I had this in the poll at first, but there were too many muscle cars in the end, so I had to exclude this based on the jaggies around the front wheel. I know it is very minor, but with only 15 slots, I had to make decisions based on small things like that.

This is definitely perfect for the theme however the idea wasn't exectued as well as the others. The colors are great, but I found the positioning of the car within the frame to be a little awkward.

Another one that I had in the poll, but I had ended up with too many muscle cars in the poll so had to exclude this based on the lighting being a little dim.

The subject and mood were great in this picture, however I had excluded this because in this case, I didn't feel the front right corner of the car being cut off added to the picture.

In this shot, the background isn't blurred enough, which distracted me from the nice action that the Subaru is going through.Also there is room for improvement in the particle effect cleanup in the back of the car.

I had a hard time cutting this one out because it was a very unique combination that addressed the theme perfectly and it had good action, however I had to remove it on something as minor as the front wheel not being turned enough even though the car seems to be going sideways. It is mainly because of the lack of space in the poll that I had to exclude it.

A pretty good shot in terms of positioning and angle and things like that, but it is oversaturated and there are too many artificats throughout the picture that are distracting to me, like the layered sky.

I liked the dreamy nature of this shot, however, I think that effect could be achieved without making the car blurred as much as it is.

This is a fitting shot for the theme, however, I had to exclude it because there were a lot of muscle car shots in the original poll I ended up with. I had to remove it on the minor fact that it was a bit too far away from the car.

Definitely the hardest shot I had to cut, the editing and composition is excellent. I had to favor other ones more in lines of the theme with the same level of editing, as there have been classic VW bugs built for rallying.

This is also a fitting combination for the theme and the angle and composition are great, however the colors were a bit funky. I think you played around with the Hue/Saturation adjustments, and I think it has to be done in limited amounts or in amounts that wouldn't make the shot look unnaturally colored.

A nice moody shot that fits the theme well, but with the limited poll space I had to remove it based on the editing of the blur around the front right of the car.

Nice choice of car, however there was another entry that looked very similar to this that I preferred over this to be in the poll because there were too many muscle cars.

I liked the vintage effect you have given to the shot, however,the lighting was a little too dark, and the background could be blurred a little bit more, along with a little bit of motion blur. I think panning mode 1 would have been great for this shot.
