"Seeing as though this is in essence a photography competition, I want you all to don your best Pro Photography gear and head out to a shoot for a classic car magazine. (pictures only, no text or magazine graphics allowed)

However, This magazine features classics that have been given a modern twist. Bright, Vibrant Candy Apple, Matt or Flip paint. Tasty Rims, Lowered suspension etc. Chrome paint, Wings & Bodykits welcome only if they look tasteful.

You can have your car driving on a track, Parked up and posing or even a pack shot featuring a few of your favourite Modernized Classics.

I'm looking for top draw magazine/publicity standard money shots. No dirty, smashed up, drifting, cars flying through the air or photos of cars rolling over is allowed.

Think, Chip Foose, Boyd Coddington, Barry White's Speedshop, West Coast Customs etc!"


CARS: Any car UP TO 1990. Premium or Standard.
LOCATIONS: Any, Cars, Vans & Ex-Military!
PHOTOTRAVEL: Yes
UNIQUE RESTRICTIONS: No stupid camber issues. I don't like cars with broken looking suspension. Any entries with dodgy camber will not be considered. New photos only. nothing you've used in any galleries or other comps.

I remember having modifications applied to license plates are no longer allowed due to some heated discussion in one of the Photomode threads?

Yeah GTuned's entry is not allowed as per discussions a couple of weeks back but thats up to Slipz to decide i guess! He must have missed it but from what i gather he is super busy so we will forgive him!!

So long as its not another picture on top of the original image, so if its done with a paintbrush etc, number plate alteration is fine. That's what i got from that discussion anyway!!

That's the case, yes. Unfortunately, that wasn't the method Gtuned used; I saw a glimpse of the issue in the thread, but this was my mistake, as I fully believed he had created the plate himself. Have you seen some of his work?!

In competition-related news, I'll have a low presence here for the rest of the week. We've hit crunch time for the move, and the PC is being dismantled this evening, so any visiting will be done by iPhone. This means nothing too involved from me (like new threads) until, at the earliest, Sunday morning, but it shouldn't upset anything too badly. Onward and upward!

It's a great shot but there were so many great shots this week i could only choose 15. Maybe if you got a little closer to the car it would have fitted in with the magazing type photo i was looking for. 👍

Too much over-exposure and the quality of the standard car is poor. it was a brave choice but it wasn't poll worthy this time. 👍

Nice use of a standard i just found the focus around the edge distracting. Maybe you could have had the mustang moving too. Good shot though. it was one of the shots i really considered. 👍

Feedback ?

Not enough emphasis on the custom paint and wheels side of it. by going Sepia and having the lower side of the car in shadow it has hidden the main part of the theme.

a shot was removed for not being within the rules.

this is a good shot and follows the theme well. It just lacks composition for me. Maybe using a wider aperture to blur the background a little would have helped. But yeah, you paid attention to the theme and its a good shot. 👍

Well the quality of the standard isn't the best but it looks ok on that shot, plus I find chrome paint really tacky. Nice shot though just not to my tastes.

Brave choice of standard but the sky ruins it for me. also the colours seem way too saturated. It's a shame the tyre looks as though it has been sliced and placed on the grass. good effort though 👍

Not much i can say about your shot as i really like it. It suits the theme very well but i felt the overall tonality of the shot was a bit flat. Maybe if the car had a vibrant metallic paint it would contrast the shot more.

but to be honest your shot gave me the most trouble deciding which of the pics should and shouldn't make the poll.

I know, ive been experimenting with cleanups the past few weeks, i was going to stop using standards after this but i'll probably make the exception for nathans birthday, i normally find chrome tacky as well i just thought i'd use it because i cant think of a more pimped car this game will allow, perhaps im thinking of the wrong kind of pimped though. I guess its kind of ironic after my moaning this week that i don't use what it was you had in mind haha, thanks for the feedback anyway, i'll keep plugging on
