Further explaination of the theme by youtimestwo.

"Dramatic results can be captured at dawn or dusk (sunrise/sunset) like my sailboat shot so
take a non-race/rally car (no numbers or sponsors) to a time-change track/location and
capture an image with "long shadows".

Cars: Any Road and Tuner.
Locations: Any with a time change.
Phototravel: Yes - Red Bull Hangar and San Galgano Abbey Only (have a sunset).
Unique Restrictions: Early morning or late afternoon hours only, no racecars or
car graphics.

You should check out Photobucket, the quality of the full size is way low, way too much compression in it. It also happen that to me on my photobucket account, be careful with it.

You should check out Photobucket, the quality of the full size is way low, way too much compression in it. It also happen that to me on my photobucket account, be careful with it.

The thing to watch with Photobucket is your file size. The free account allows files up to 1Mb - after that it compresses them down to 1Mb and the compression is ugly! I always check the file size and increase the compression with my editing program if necessary before uploading to PB.

This was mine - didn't expect it to get anywhere - I didn't have the time to pull off the shot I had in mind. Then after I sent it I found a number of "old" unused shots that were better and fit the theme perfectly.

speaking of which, the 1920 x 1080 pixel photos off GT5 are around 500Kb, so compression in PB shouldn't be too bad except when edited to over 1Mb.

but guys, on the other hand, is it a good idea to enter comps with photos set to magnification x2 when shooting it in GT5?

IMO, the cross processing filter are the turn off.
Without it, it would've been better. 👍

Time is the important factor, the long shadows quote is more an expression for early or late in the day.

And now I will attempt to be thorough but brief.
As judge I feel obliged to comment on entries if requested. This poll was based on theme and personal preferences, not educated or experienced in the graphics industry (like some in these comps), photography for me is a hobby only. This being said, feedback is more what I would’ve liked to see as opposed to how to improve. Numbers here meant that only about one of every three entries could make poll, several great entries sadly were left out. Within my “taste” an honest unbiased attempt was made to show a variety of images for voting. After submitting, I did notice 98% of poll images contained sky, guess subconsciously it was a big preference, those having shots without it may have been excluded? I prefer landscape, like good filter use, low f, balance and composition but dislike poorly rendered avatars and background objects. This should help to understand my selections.

Glad to see these shots here, truthfully, without a lie, these three images and one more that’s in the poll, were all a toss up tie for the final poll spot! I asked my girl to give me her opinion and when she selected the one I also had in mind, these were cut, sorry, three fine photos I wouldn’t change.

Both of these shots were mirrored by others in the poll and I wanted to show a variety so unfortunately yours were topped.

I really loved the reflections but for theme and my taste I would have liked to have seen the camera lower showing the sun on the horizon.
(not sure if it's possible to do it though and keep those fine reflections?)

Don’t stop shooting stuff like this! Along with a “black biiiiiird” from down under, truly refreshing new image perspectives are showing up in these comps! To appeal, again to my taste, use a lower camera angle showing the sun on the horizon. (but that too might ruin the shot?)

Nice shot, maybe less angle would get rid of a little too much tarmac showing more of the sunset and a lighter car colour might define more.

Be sure to save those puppies on the hard drive for future comps! They are natoriously impressive!

Seriously? Different car, maybe track too, but the composition of the last one in the poll, I feel, is very similar to your shot. Also, the poll has two "warm" Toscana shots and a fleet of lambos, too similar to RED3MON's shot for me :/
Apologies if you disagree but the attempt was to give voters a range of styles to choose from and I may have also rushed through it a bit, but...
