And I didn't make the cut again :(

Why just moan about it when you can post your shot up for everyone (who is willing) to comment.

That is what i have been doing and continue to, this got me from your situation to an occasional feature in the polls, of course with nissanfanatic's advice of keep practising.

I have been in your situation, and would look forward to seeing your shot in the polls soon.

Well here you go

I think I know why I didn't make the cut

So, it just I can't vote for myself. Can I vote for someone else?

You must NEVER vote for yourself if you make it through to a poll.

The idea is you vote for someone else - as does everyone.

:)

Composition maybe just a bit off, a quarter of the pic is just bright white sky, if you had raised the camera little higher you would have got more car less sky/building

Also try using the rule of thirds (google it) as a broad basis, the feel of a picture is completely different when the subject is not right in the middle

Keep practicing we have all been new to these comps at some point 👍

Yayyyy I made it ,been a while :D .Tough tough theme but wow the poll looks stunning.

I am surprised how flickr has original upload size for non pro users O.o .

Luis I love the composition in your shot in fact I love the whole shot ,I think it is PD who let you down there m8 exhaust tip and the grill above it look bad .

Hmmm... I didn't even enter, so ignore this if you like - but I can just say that I think there are some poll-worthy shots that didn't go in... And some of those up there are... well, not my favorites, so to speak.

I agree.

I agree, but "art is in the eye of the beholder" and whatnot
and i'm not just saying that because my entry was't chosen.

I am content with being a poll pic member and I didn't expect much... happy to have a vote too!..:gtpflag:

Doubt that. I'm constantly getting worse :sly:

Any feedback on mine, Aragam?

I think you couldn't resist the desire to shoot cars from very far away, although angle and composition are pretty good for TGTT, but the car seemed so far away cost you dearly among most judges.

gordongt: I think what put your shot off the poll is the integration of the A-pillar and the windscreen, and showing the overexposed parts of the shot, and I agree that the Jag XJ220 is a quitessentially British car, however, it being a standard car in GT5 let it down considerably.

There was a 2.0 comp a few weeks ago of shooting the XJ220 at London, my shots turned out hell awful so that I didn't bother editing it and skipped it altogether.

Having said enough of bolicks, I should put mine up for critics:

Too ordinary, I assume?

I think the cars color makes it stand out too much. It almost looks like you took a separate photo of the car, and photoshopped it into a photo of the TGTT.

Okay everybody! this was tough for me as I moved house over the weekend(meaning I had no internet) and as such could only view and compile the poll on my iphone :/ sorry to all those who missed out, most of the feed back i have read from others has been on the money though, for Matt yours was actually my last decision and for some reason every time I looked at yours I was drawn to looking at the building in the background, maybe if the background was blurred a touch it would have been nicer, GP with your i liked the striking colour of the car but found the background a little boring and also the distance of the car off putting :/ but again sorry to all that didn't make it!

I guess no one ,likes DB9s , neither Jeremy Clarkson went here to see his adorable DB9 :(

Far angles are good, aren't they? :sly:
They make bokehs look better and more blurry, and they give you enough angle to include not only the car, but also the environment and surroundings, into the photo. ;)

Oww, should have used my another XKR... :(
And, hey, Photoshop is not allowed in the rules!

I do not disagree with your thoughts, but another thing to consider is that this is GT5 photocomp, what is the backbone of GT5? cars.

From my observation of most judges since I became involved in GTP photocomps is that the car is the main dish in the plate, if your car is even smaller in the pic than my gentleman's sausage, then it would be more of a scenery shot than car shot, and this is not what the judges like to see.
