Further explaination of the theme by ShadowPeter.

"The idea is drawn from the PS1 game "Colin Mcrae Rally". Play as the famous "Flying Scotsman"
aka Colin Mcrae (yep. I know we do not have the Impreza '98, so we have to use the '99 :indiff:),
Richard Burns, Tommi Mäkinen, Alister Mcrae, Juha Kankkunen, Didier Auriol or Carlos Sainz. :)
I want realistic photos, in other words, no filters. ;)."

Cars: Subaru Impreza Rally Car '99, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV Rally Car '97,
Ford Escort Rally Car '98, Toyota Corolla Rally Car '98.
Locations: Rally Tracks only.
Phototravel: Err... No.
Unique Restrictions: Single car shot and no filters.

This Thread will answer many possible questions you may have.

  • Entries for the competition this week must be sent to the Judge ShadowPeter Via
    Private Message and not posted in this thread, any pics posted in this thread will not be
    considered for the poll.
  • Your PM must consist of a preview image no bigger than 500px at the largest side with a
    direct link to the full size image.
  • Your first entry will be your last, you will not be allowed to change your entry so be happy
    with it.
  • One entry per user. It must be your own work, and never previously used in a competition.
  • Do not use a photo from your Gallery or post your photo shoot in your Gallery until after
    the competition (and poll if you made it) has closed.
  • Preview images can not exceed 500 pixels in either direction.
  • A preview image must be representative of the full-size image. Do not add effects to it.
  • Winner chooses the following week's theme and becomes Judge for that week.
  • Winners cannot enter in their own theme!
  • The Judge will select their favourite 10 entries and PM to the Host for the poll.
  • The poll entries will then all be hosted by me so that links cannot be traced to the owner
    of the photo.
  • The Host may ask for the original image and it must be submitted if so.
    It's recommended to save the original image (preferably in-game) until week's ends.
  • It is recommended you host your image on ImageShack, Photobucket, or Flickr.
  • It is also recommended to turn on the "privacy" of your entry image. Flickr users will need
    to provide the judge with a direct link to the fullsize image when set to private as the link
    used with the Share option won't be accessible to the judge/host.

  • No post-GT5 editing, besides proportionally resize and rotate, is allowed.

Cool theme, I remember playing Colin McRae Rally 2 on my dad's PC back when I was a kid.

I think that rally tracks in GT5 are:
Eiger Nordwand (short, G, K, W trails), Chamonix (every variation), Toscana (course maker and dirt track), Liege (course maker), Alaska (course maker) and Mt. Aso (course maker) :)

All Eiger, except short
All Chamonix
Toscana (Dirt track only)
Liège (Course Maker)
Alaska (Course Maker)

Mt. Aso is not included. :)

Remember people, i want feel rally, so forger it to take photos on tunnel of Eiger N. - K. ;)

So only dirt and snow; no tarmac? And Alaska is allowed too, right?
 
I feel kind of obligated to participate in this competition as we finns are THE rally nation.. :sly: (well Loeb has kind of ruined it for us lately.. :ouch:) And you can be sure ill be using the "Tommi Mäkinen" Lancer - all hail to the king..

Too bad it wasnt the rally cars of 90s - there would have been the Kankkunen/Sainz Celica.. 👍 Also Im surpriced its limited to those four cars as there also 99' 206 and 99' Xsara rally cars.. and also the escort I believe.. :dunce:

Off-Topic: I think the lack of a rival for him due to disinvestment and led him to give up the rallies. :( Although we don't have Ford (which was a punch in the stomach for me :ouch:), we have the Hyundai (return) on next year. :)

On-Topic: While I was thinking about putting these cars, but due to lack of Córboba Seat, Hyundai Coupe and the Skoda Octavia... :ouch: (V-Rally 2 forever! :bowdown:)
 
..and one flying finn away - ohoy!

And blew it once again by using 99' evo... :grumpy:

Only 12 entries. That means they're all qualyfing in the poll.

I think the people don't love the theme. :nervous:​
 
Got more entries than my theme last week. This time of year is always a bit hetic and entries tend to drop off a bit generally, but especially for SSC and CCCL as people tend to just concentrate what little time they have to the main two comps.
