Clubsport pedal question...

I'm having a problem with my PC not recognizing my Clubsport pedals when I plug them into the PC via USB cable. Latest firmware installed on my PC and pedals work when plugged into my CSR Elite wheel via the PS2 port, just not when plugged directly into the PC via a USB cable. I only have one cable plugged in at a time, never both cables at the same time.

Since the PS2 port works and the USB port on the pedals appears not to I was wondering if I could run a cable from the PS2 port to the USB port on my PC with an adapter which has a PS2 plug on one end and a male USB plug on the other end? If this is possible I'd plug the pedals directly into my PC's USB port utilizing the PS2 port on the pedals vice the pedals USB port, anyone try this?

Would it work/not work or could it damage the pedals?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Have you tried different USB ports on your PC? Have you tried other USB units in the PC port to rule out any problems with that USB port? Is it plugged directly to the PC or do you have it plugged into a 4 way USB unit or larger? If so plug it directly into the PC, I would avoid any adapters if possible.

Hello left888, thanks for the reply.

Yes, I've tried different USB ports, different USB cables and even different computers (two Win 7, 64 bit computers with Fanatec Driver PW64 115 installed and one Win Vista 32 bit with Fanatec Driver PW32 115 installed).

The USB cable is plugged directly into the PC USB port, no adapters of any kind, cable runs from the pedals directly into the PC USB port. The same results on all computers - when the pedals are plugged into the CSR E via the PS2 port and the CSR E is plugged into the PC, the PC recognizes the pedals and they work as they should BUT if I disconnect the PS2 cable and remove it from the pedals then plug the pedals directly into the PC via the pedal's USB port to the PC's USB port the pedals are not recognized by the PC and do not work. I've tried this while the CSR E was plugged into another USB port on the PC and without the CSR E being plugged in, same results.

It appears the USB port on the pedals is bad, that's why I was wondering if I could use an adapter and plug the pedals into the PC utilizing the PS2 port on the pedals.

You should try it!

At my first setup of the CSPV2s I plugged the pedals into the CSW (pedals plugged into CSW and CSW plugged into PC) and the pedals would not be recognized by my PC or the Fanatec Wheel Property software. I do not know if this is for all computers or something I did wrong or my computer not allowing this to work, or if this method will never work.

good luck! let us know what happens.

Heard from Fanatec support this morning and they have determined that I have a bad PCB and are sending me a new one.

I was about to say bad PCB, then I read this :) I have recently had issues with PCB and sensors, and, I now am a near expert on CSP's because of it!!!
