Clubsport pedals load cell problem

About a month ago my clubsport pedals started malfunctioning, the problem basically involved the brake pedal not fully releasing and always being applied slightly.

Fanatec sent out a replacement load cell and all was well for about 3 weeks.

Now the same thing has happened again.

Has anyone else had this problem.

Have you tried changing the oil/lubrication in case it's just some friction? Fanatec had a video of it on there site at one time.

I totally disassembled and re-assembled and the problem seems to be gone.

Could it really be lubrication causing the problem?

I had this problem before and fanatec sent out a new load cell which sorted the fault.

Its a weird one as when it does happen the brake works ok initially but after 10 mins it just starts playing up again.

I will maybe go out and buy some oil.

Are you in aberdeenshire, the reason I ask is yoyr "loon" part of your user name.

It could be another duff load cell, I had the same problem with the cell always registering some pressure. If it's not have you tried the PVU foam modification where you need to trim the ends of the plug to a more rounded profile? I got a replacement from Armin a wee while back and it was trimmed which seems to allow easier travel within the barrel.
Hope you get it sorted soon loon!

Awa tae mak a snowman for the bairn!

Cheers min.

I had a couple of times the same problem. It shows up and disappears, without any particularly reason :scared:

It could be the foam inside, because (second day of use) when first time happened, I dissembled the pedals and noticed that the "practical indestructible" foam (this is how Fanatec claims to be) was indeed destructed to the one end. I adjusted the pressure set button, as a precautionary measures, for less pressure and now works fine. Not sure the problem solved because a week ago it did it again for 1-2 minutes... :ouch:(it could be something else, like a faulty load cell)

Finaly, seems that my break pedal still has problems...
Everything was fine till yesterday, when suddenly stoped working properly.

Applying, now, the maximum possible pressure, results only to 45-50% strength of braking, even if I set the pressure regulator to maximum. If I set to minimum (turn left - I think) the highest level of braking barely achieves the level of 20%.
I suppose its a problem caused by a malfunction of the pressure (load) cell.

I haven't heard of the PVU foam mod. Where else have people talked about it?

If you planning to buy the "tuning kit" you might as well order some load cells while you're at it. In the long run you are going to need them. Someone here wrote they are $6 a piece. By ordering them with the tuning kit or other items will save you $17 on shipping.

How do you go about ordering the load cell? I don't see it on the website. I broke mine and getting email support through Fanatec is a pain in the #$% :grumpy:. I just want my damn pedals to work!

Another load cell problem with clubsport pedals after about 2 months use- Fanatec said they will send me a new one...no driving for me :ouch:

I just got the V2s today. I've been running the G27 pedals with the CSRE.
I'm having trouble getting used to the brake pedal on the V2s.

I really have to mash it down hard to get full braking. I did the USB/PC tuning to adjust the load cell. I have it on 10, with the spring adjustment loose as possible.

I understand the V2s are very good at simulating an actual pedal, and that there may be a learning curve coming from pedometer pedals. It's just frustrating right now as the G27 pedals are so linear and smooth.

Edit:

GT5 is bang on.
Forza required in game brake adjustments which fixed it.

Also, side note about these pedals. While they absolutely rock (now that I got my head out and learned to tune them correctly) I'll say a major con is the base length for users with big feet. I'm a size 13US, and am used to using my toes.

Even with the spacers in the back and pedals raised, my heels still constantly rub on the edge of the base. Ouch Fanatec!!
