Hi all,

well, my csr pedals just went dead a few days ago:grumpy: obviously, they just arent as sturdy as they look. ive fixed the throttle and brake but the clutch's potentiometer is completely wasted:sick:
now i got an excuse for myself to get over it and buy some new hardware:sly:

the options are: buy a g27 and upgrade to the perfect pedal later, or buy a clubsport (and maybe upgrade to t500 rs later).
i know this might be a question asked many times before, but which one is better ("better" as in more worth the money), the clubsport v2 or the perfect pedal? i heard a lot of clubsport v1 users have had their load cells broken/cracked at least once, does v2 have the same problem?
i know a lot of people say the clubsport v1 just doesnt feel as good as the perfect pedal, what about v2?
from some review videos i can see that the perfect pedal has a really, really short throw. is that even comfortable? will it affect my lap times in a good way?

it seems that csp v2's brake moves about 3 or 4 centimeters before it actually hits the load cell. well, that amount is too much for me... i know its adjustable and i can make it as short as i want, but does that stiffen the brake a lot?

an obvious advantage that the perfect pedal (or actually, the g27 pedal set) is the freedom of modding. taking the pedals apart and inverting them is so much easier than it is for the clubsport pedals.
so what's your take on this...
again, i dont have a g27 yet... i plan on buying on just before christmas when its on sale at a local electronics store:) i race with
a carrera and csr pedals now (which are ok but im tired of potentiometer brakes:crazy:) its better to take this into account too when helping me make my decision...
thanks

Sam

If you still have warranty on your CSR pedals you can ask our support to get a discount if you upgrade to a CSP.

I have both CSP V2 and perfect pedal. I've modded my CSP V2 with a custom spring from the CST F1 set. Now the CSP V2s are pretty "perfect"

does it matter if i tried to fix my pedals and opened them? you know i opened all three pedal up and tested connections with a multimeter and thats how i found out the pots were defect (or just some parts inside it were having bad connections). some parts in it were even broken... by me, so im not so sure if the warranty is still applicable

You have done more than most would to make sure they were truly defective to get the offer to upgrade......... They likely will tell you to toss the CSR pedals in all likelihood. I would take the deal if I were you. :sly: Perfect Pedal is reallllly good, but very expensive when compared to the deal & quality of the CSP's.

is it this post?

cool mod. where did buy the spring? does cst sell the spring separately?

but without any modding, how do you think the two pedal sets compare?
also what do you think about the feedback motor in csp v2's brake? what kind of vibration do you feel? is the vibration similar to that a mobile phone's or does it jerk back and forth a lot?

so given the money, csp v2 is in your opinion a better option right? well, im starting to think, maybe i should buy the csp first, and when im really ready to take my sim racing to the next level, i will build myself a truly hydraulic brake with master cylinders and stuff (imo something like this is even better than the perfect pedal)!! that's a different story though :)

if it weren't for csp v2's non-modularity and notoriously easy-to-crack load cell, id have already placed my order for the csp v2 now... these problems worry me so much:crazy:

The ONLY reason why Load-Cell's crack is mainly due to user error/mis-use. When calibrated to YOUR liking, the cell should last minimally +-18 months. I am on month 13 on my current cell, and it is still working perfectly!

I abused my first one, once replaced, I was taught the proper calibration technique. Since then, much success!

Have you used any hydraulic brakes? how does the csp v2's oil dampened brake compare to real hydraulic ones?
and what about the clutch stiffness? i like the clutch to be really, really stiff and have a long travel. the degressive mechanism seems pretty well done though... i hope that makes it stiffer.

I have both CSP V1 and V2 pedals. I really haven't noticed a hugh difference in the brake yet. It feels smoother, but the spring on the shock is too weak and the seals leak. I'm planning to take it to a RC model shop to see if I can buy a better one.

The clutch is definitely an improvement and feels very realistic. It does have a long throw and is plenty stiff for me.
