Wondering if anyone can shed insight onto this. When driving a little more aggressively then normal, I am finding my 2 to 3 shift is having clutch either slipping or sticking, I am not sure the proper term. Taking off from the line in 1st, taking to about 5000 rpm, clutch, shift, 2nd, 5000 rpm clutch shift, and then when I let off of the clutch, it acts as thought it is still engaged, I'll step on the gas, and it spins like crazy up the rpm meter, but as if like I said, the clutch was in....if anyone knows whuts going on, i would appreciate the info! 👍

Is the pedal returning fully?

Sounds like your clutch is worn and on its way out, need replacing. If you been driving agressively prior to this problem it may also be overheating which helps the slipping.

Ethier way its a crappy clutch or just worn.

Well, seldom to I abuse the clutch...but it is an off lease I purchased about 3 months ago...90 thousand k on her now...so I have no idea how the original driver was to the clutch.

thats the first type of problems i started having with my clutch in my car when changing in to gears and giving it a bit of gas and it just slips just gota take it easy.

oh and the way to test if your clutch is rooted or not Put the handbrake on Clutch in and put into a high gear (4-5) And slowly release the clutch and it should stall prety quickly if it doesnt and keeps running there something wrong.

Who really knows, maybe the previous driver did not know how to engage it properly. BTW, great purchase, 90K is typical to change the clutch, but some can go 150K +.

I have a 2000 SE that I'm replacing the clutch on soon. Car has 95k miles. Because I'm going turbo in the spring, I've got a Jim Wolf stage 2 clutch disk and pressure plate going in. For you're application, I'd go with the Jim Wolf pressure plate and a stock disk. I've heard alot of good things about that setup. :sly: 👍
