hi, i recently bought a '91 cav. from my aunt and it is my first standard. now ever since i first test drove it the clutch had seemed like it wasnt working properly. i just figured that it would work itself into shape. a few days ago my friend was driving it and was accelerating out of an intersection going from 2nd to 3rd and said the car went neutral. he pulled off to the side and couldnt put it into any gear. i dont think he burned the clutch out but i have no idea what is wrong. maybe the shifter? a line needs to be bled? transmission fluid? i have no clue. i dont know much about cars but im a capable human being if i have good instructions. thanks for reading this and hope to get a reply.

Check and see if it has a hydralic clutch. That means it would have a clutch master cylinder like the brakes. If it dose, you might need a new master cylinder. If it dose not,a few things need to be checked.Clutch cable might be streached or the disc might be worn out,if this is the case I recomend that you get a complete new clutch. It comes with a new pressure plate, new disc, new release bearing and a alinement tool.If you are not or have not worked on a fwd clutch before, take it to a shop as these can be a big pain to work on.

Just checked your bio and it dose not state you age so if you are in high school, check with the auto shop teacher. They might be able to do the work there as a school project.
